About character limit for feedback,
What do you think about buyers getting more characters to leave feedback?

Nothing good can ever come from it. Short and sweet be it a Pos or Neg; but to rant on for 4, 5 lines on a Neg is really NOT a good thing.

Doesn't bother me. I think its more interesting to read the negative feedback stories of other sellers than the positive ones.
I had someone leave me a book of a positive feedback. It was nice, and I left my usual one sentence feedback back.
Doesn't bother me one way or the other. It definitely doesn't make the buyer WANT to leave more feedback. I would have thousands more by now if it did. Buyers leave it or they dont. Feedback leaving is so outdated and basically if someone is going to leave feedback, its most likely bad so I dont poke the bear.
This is the least of seller problems. There are so many other things ebay could update to HELP sellers and buyers but they don't. They concentrate on frivolous stuff. It is what it is.

As long as it is a positive feedback, I love it. I've gotten left some great feedback with the addition spaces.
If I get a negative and a long novel posted....that may change my attitude towards it.
I was all rah-rah and head cheerleader for Manage Payments at one time...then it bit me in the @ ss. I am no longer rah-rah or head cheerleader for MP.

Many Buyers still leave no feedback at all.
While the Buyer may have the ability to leave a Novella should they desire, the Seller can also in reply to address any concerns and tell their side of the story in depth, which can be helpful.
Not a change I advocated for as a Seller. Think FB needs a major over-haul or just go away. It is pretty meaningless.

nuts - have had buyers go on and on about item won't be big enough to fit their grandmother and not the texture of material they wanted even though all dimensions are listed. Most buyers don't read feedback anyway. Why would someone take lots of time writing a long paragraph anyway. Too much time on their hands.

With 0 sold items, 0 feedback and just joined in October, not sure why you are worried about how many characters there are in the feedback window at this point?

Frankly, I see it as a bad idea. Now they seem to be writing novels.

I understand that 80 characters was not always enough, however, 500 is ALWAYS too much.
Somewhere closer to 150 characters would have been a better option, imho.

I am strongly, irrevocably, undeniably , and absolutely here to say it doesn't make much difference to me one way or another.

I haven't thought about my feedback for years, let alone read it.

My opinion.........whatever!
I've only had a couple of buyers use any of those extra characters and those that did left over the top gushing feedback about how wonderful I am.
Going the other way, I leave the same feedback comments for buyers that I've been using for the past 20 years.
