I bought and paid for this item on 4-16-19.
Estimated delivery between 4-24-19 and 4-29-19.
Today the tracking shows...
4-21-19: Tracking number provided.
4-25-19: USPS in possession of package.
4-25-19: Departed post office.
4-26-19: Arrived at distribution center.
4-29-19: In transit, arriving late.
Most of the delay was the sellers. It took 9 days to get the package to the USPS.
The USPS has only had the package for 4 days.
I contacted the seller today and got a response that the package will be later due to the USPS.
Obviously the package will not show up on time. Is there anything i can do? What would you do?

I'd wait for delivery and figure things happen.

Was there any urgency in buying the item?
Was it for a birthday or a ... actually I can't think of anything I would buy online that I needed quickly. But I live in a city.
At worst I might leave a neutral "Purchase 4/16/19 mailed 4/25/19 recd 4/30/19".

No urgency. But like everybody else, i like getting my stuff in a timely manner. If it shows up a few days late, no big deal.
I just think 9 days is a little too long for the seller to ship the item, and then to blame the USPS.
Does ebay take any kind of action if a order shows up late, outside of the delivery date?
I was contemplation perhaps a neutral feedback. I was just wondering what others would do.

I've had a few packages arrive a day late, due to the USPS delays. Not a big deal to me and left the seller's positive feedback anyway. Both items were shipped same day and arrived in great condition. Why take it out on the seller?
Whatever you choose to do; know that it's not always the sellers fault.

In this case, the seller seems to have taken five days to mail the Thing.
Unless he has a five day handling time, that's not really acceptable.

I don't care for it when sellers take their sweet pea time getting things shipped unless they contact me ahead of time or post something about late shipping in the listing . For this one ? I'd probably leave a neutral feedback . Tulips

I am sorry but I call it a **bleep**.
I've had cases where I left the packages at the post office and 3 days later it shows as "received" at the same location. That is in any day from Monday to Friday, without counting the weekends.
My latest case: Saturday April 6. Package is left at the counter, I even joked with them clerks about a package via first class the Monday before not being scanned but after 27 hours after I left it in the same counter. That package should have been gone!
The package in question was a priority mail, 2 days delivery within California.
Package arrives Tuesday in Los Angeles. Out for delivery.
Wednesday?
Thursday?
Friday?
Saturday?
Sunday?
Monday?
Tuesday?
And so on!
Delivered when? April 17
A 2 day delivery is turned into 11.
My fault, right?

I agree but unless the seller had a 5 day handling time - the package was originally late because they didn't get it to the PO. This is why I like to see the handling time front and center. I know that the PO is iffy - I want to know my seller is reliable.

You are in Hawaii. I would do nothing but be happy when the item arrives. Tracking is showing it is on the way.

That has happened to me a couple of times, but as a seller, I know stuff happens. Emergencies happen. Items get misplaced. Items suddenly get damaged. Or seller just lazy and irresponsible.
My displeasure is my refusal to leave any feedback. Now if the seller messaged me and explained the delay, I would leave positive feedback. No explanation, no feedback.

Did this item offer guaranteed delivery? If so, then you can get some compensation for the shipping cost.
I recently had several of my packages show the same note (arriving late) on the tracking and I had shipped within my handling time. That note proves there is a delay on the USPS end, so that wasn't a lie. Did your item have the long handling time notation on the listing? There may or may not be fault on both parties.
Since it is only 1 day late now, I can't imagine making a fuss yet.

The only thing I would do is not leave feedback and not buy from that seller again. Any other action would possibly impact his ability to sell, and it is not a behavior that warrants that kind of result.

I would do nothing but that is just me. I buy nothing on-line that I need right away and I only check tracking numbers to see where the item is at. As long as the item gets to me with ten days or two weeks, I don't have any issues. Even after that time I would just contact the seller to see if there has been a problem and when should I expect my item.
No way would I hand out a negative or a neutral for this. IF I get my item as described, I am usually happy.
I reserve my negatives and neutrals for truly scamming sellers, not slow shippers.
COYOTES RULE!!!
