What Do I Do When A Buyer Returns A Pair of Shoes Worn?

Hi!

I sold a pair of very expensive jordans to a guy, and now he wants to return them. I have a suspension that he bought them to wear a few times then return them. If they come back worn and creased, do I have to refund him? Thanks so much 🙂

If they file an INAD, you won't have a choice.

What is the reason shown in the eBay return request (not ebay messages)?

Found cheaper is a reason they can select.

When you accept returns they can return it for any reason including changed mind or found them cheaper.

The buyer returns them on their dime when it's a remorse return.

You give 30 days returns, so the reason doesn't matter. You have to accept them and refund 100% minus shipping (which you have 'free' so they get 100%). If they are used, nothing you can do unless you are a Top Rated Seller, you can deduct up to 50%.

Inspect them carefully, but I suspect they'll be fine - that's not an uncommon return reason.

Though you'd be surprised at how math-challenged some people are.  I had one person return a jacket to me because they found it cheaper.  I looked at the listing they purchased (it was not a common sort of jacket and they mentioned it was on here) - after paying to return this one (they were honest), and purchasing the other, they would have paid an extra $2, I think it was.  Okee-dokee lol - why ask why.  I cheerfully refunded and resold the jacket.

You'll have a couple of days to inspect them upon return BEFORE you have to Refund - come back to the boards to update us if anything is out of the ordinary and someone on here will certainly be able to help you with whatever dilemma has arisen.  Good luck!
