Weird message cancelling order after sale?

I never got a message like this before but an item I’ve been wanting to sell for over a year finally sold but then I got a message sayin g eBay cancelled it? What’s weird is there’s a sale on my mobile and o can’t exist it.. but I was so excited to finally get rid of that stupid thing.. is this a scam? It was right when he bought it a few seconds after so it’s weird if suddenly his account is just gone within a second of seconds?

the issue is it’s not letting me relist it, and I had people watching it

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

I looked at the payments in the app and it says payment is processing for this transaction completing today

I have another sale I need to mail today and I always try to mail the day after I sell so I’m not sure what to do now since the app is still telling me to send it

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

Ebay told you not to ship it, so don't ship it.  Give eBay a call or message them on social media if you have any concerns.

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

I had the exact same message and was told not to ship it. Now I have a defect for late shipment.

We wanted to let you know that a bid or order for the listing below was canceled because of an issue with the buyer’s account:

We understand that this must be disappointing, but unfortunately the buyer, elacrev-0, is no longer registered on eBay so we had to cancel all of their open transactions.

Here’s what you should do

  • Don’t complete the sale or ship the item to elacrev-0 if you haven’t done so yet.
  • Don’t communicate any further with elacrev-0, especially if they get in touch with you outside of eBay.
  • If elacrev-0 requests a payment or refund, don’t send any money without contacting eBay first. If payment was processed, a refund has not been issued yet just in case you’ve already shipped the item.
  • If you already sent the item, contact the shipper to find out if you can stop the delivery and have the item returned to you.
  • If your listing has ended, you can relist your item.

And remember, we’re here to help so please get in touch with any questions you might have.

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

So even if they told you not to ship it they still hit you for not shipping it? What do I do then?

Have you contacted eBay? That's what you do.

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

I would contact eBay, but I can tell you that I've had many of these over the years, where I've already shipped them & they've been just fine.  Is your buyer NARU?  If so that does mean they got booted off.  It doesn't necessarily mean it was a scam of any sort.  Back in the day, I remember they would cancel orders if the buyer's acct was delinquent in paying their fees, even if it was $20 or something.  No idea if they still do that, but there was a similar thread yesterday where the person had already shipped & you can see that many of us answered, no big deal, it's happened to most of us & was just fine.  Every time it happened to me it was a run of the mill, non scammed item.  Here's yesterday's thread.

In this case, since you haven't shipped yet, I'd contact eBay to see why it's still saying that you should & to be sure you're covered defect-wise, if you don't.

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

I've seen several of these over the short term - Dont know what happening, but I dont trust ebay as far as I can throw the company and all its assets - When I see stuff like this, being disillusioned with, disgruntled by, and wary of the company, I normally come to the conclusion the site is up to no good - right or wrong - Here is another one from yesterday:

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

So I contacted them via social media and I’m just getting fluffy responses it almost seems like they don’t know either cause they said I should be able to sell similar or to look in the unsold area for it but it’s showing sold. And if I click the actual item it gives me an error that it was entirely removed not even showing cancelled almost like I was in the wrong and it was banned? This is really weird considering the social media places aren’t giving me solid answers and I really don’t want to repost this from scratch AND possibly get a negative for not shipping it when I have perfect history.. it’s not like this is my fault. And go figure it’s the one item that’s caused me grief the most that it involves.

If it's been paid I'd just ship it.

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

You're not stuck with anything.  There's a reason stores practically give things away at some point, because the shelf space becomes more valuable than even the tiniest profit, or even recouping their loss in some cases.  -That's called a tax write-off.  And when it comes to an individual whose "shelf space" is their own home, and their turnover occurring mostly in their own mind and eyes having to see some annoyingly not-selling thing sitting around all the time, well your psyche is even more valuable than shelf space.  Treat yourself, donate this item.

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

New update on this issue, the person who bought the pillow and was supposedly banned is back now. Their profile and feedback are all there again

so my listing is showing as removed but the buyer isn’t a banned buyer

Re: Weird message cancelling order after sale?

I can’t cause it’s still saying to ship it and the person who was supposedly banned is back, their profile is viewable now and I can see their feedback. So I don’t know if I should message the buyer or what

Ah that makes sense.  I thought you just meant because this sale failed, now you're back trying to sell an unsellable item.  Well, I'll let more veteran sellers advise on what to do about this buyer, but I still stand by what I said, lol.  If this isn't a sale, get rid of that silly thing.

This doesn’t make any sense to me. If this was a scammer they shouldn’t be back, but I see the funds processing still on the app and I can go to their page now. There is a possibility they got temp kicked off but they’re back but that makes me sale in some sort of wonky position. I’m guessing I should wait to see if the funds transfer first? They would tomorrow if they do
