I had a buyer ask me to cal him in his first message sent. I told him that's against the rules and didn't respond after that.
2 weeks later I get a warning from eBay... here's the screenshot.
If another memeber decides to do this will I get another warning or possibly a ban for something I didn't do?

Oh no. That's horrible! Must of missed that thread. How long was the ban for? And was if for this as well?
It was for a week. It was my fault I sent my email address. A friend I hadn't had contact with for a few years found me on eBay and I was so excited to be in contact with her again. I didnt even think.
I called the Manager who is handling these cases and he said that even though he could see that my message showed no intent to sell outside of eBay, there was nothing he could do. That was completely against what they say in their policy. It clearly says that it has to be in the "context of selling outside" where mine wasn't.
That being said, I'm giving no one anything ever again.

Great. I have a version of that statement in every one of my 550+ listings. I feel a bout of Serious Editing coming on. ![]()

I always sign any message with my first name. You can be sure that I will never even put my last name on a message. My responses are going to be super pure.

I worked last night and going to bed now after packing up my shipping, so I won't be at the chat, but I really think this should be brought up, especially as it's Brian Burke.
About time they got some real questions instead of fawning fluffspeak.
I will be attending. You can count on that.

If you're going to be online at 1pm PST, I'd bring this up at the meeting.

I might be around. Is the discussion in the selling board? Haven't been apart of one before..
it worked the 4th time calling but now I've been on hold for 30 minutes...not sure if it is even worth the time to just sit here and keep waiting..very annoying.
About 40 mins total trying to get ahold of someone and nothing. 😕

What is so frustrating about all this is that the Chinese sellers break about every rule there is and dont even get a warning

UPDATE:
I was transferred over to eBay's 'Trust & Safety' department. I was told that the rep can clearly see this was not my fault, BUT they cannot remove a warning, they can only remove a 'restriction'..
He told me that if I receive a second email about this, that my account will be restricted.. He then said he's making a note and that if this happens, to give them a call to have the restriction removed. I was given a reference number and nothing else...the warning was NOT removed.. For all I know, this could be affecting my search ranking and sales.
I was quite annoyed they could not remove the warning, but at least I was given a reference number if the issue comes up.
With so many changes in the site, I am amazed that I now have to worry about getting my account restricted... I had a buyer message me today with a price point and his zip code for shipping...and now I'm to scared to even reply. Which by the way the offer was for $1,350...and I can't even reply because I'm scared to get banned? This is amazing....
Change your HTML...don't get messages with phone numbers or emails(which I can't control)...remove active content that was allowed but not anymore.. WHEN CAN I JUST RELAX AND SELL WITHOUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH ALL THIS NONSENSE!? Is this how most sites deal with their sellers? Make them do all the work and give them warnings and restrictions for stuff they didn't do?

And they want all forms of anything that could be viewed as contact information and yet a seller with over 3,000 listings that was featured in one of the Ebay Blogs recently has phone numbers in their listings multiple times (I counted 10 times) plus they have their Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instragram and YouTube ids at the bottom of their listings and at one time those IDs were live links on their Ebay store page.
So why are some people getting nailed to the wall on this and yet others manage to just skate without making any changes? Very unfair.

I sent you a message last night.
I had a buyer ask for my phone number and when I cited the eBay policy, he said everyone else has given him their numbers. I said that I couldn't give mine but he could message me his questions.
a week later he asked for my website (which I don't have but wouldn't have given), so I ignored and blocked. I feel like this "buyer" is not really a buyer at all and just trying to get me into trouble. Maybe I am competition to their actual ID.
My item was also men's shoes as I thought that's yours was too.
