Sold a couple items locally and delivery was local and to avoid bad Karma I had the buyer run payment through PayPal and eBay. Could of just closed the item and taken cash to avoid all fees because the buyer was a make offer and local. Buyer paid and put possitive feedback on both items but when I attempted to transfer to my bank three days later PayPal placed all my funds on hold. Called PayPal and seems it is a security hold which is common. You try to do the right thing and pay fees on items even on local sales when eBay connected buyer with seller. Just a warning PayPal just charged me $40.00 in fees to not give me my money from a possitive feedback sale. Ebay will probably get their $126.00 in fees before the money is released from a security hold. Next time that money will be cash in my pocket on local buyers. Karma goes both ways.

My storefront/business account is fairly new - my personal account is 15 and a half years old. I have 915 fb with a 100% rate.
Every. nickle.
Every dime.
Of every transaction I've sold on ebay so far through my tack shop id has had a freakin' hold on it.
I get the big ticket stuff in the 100s of dollar range, but its the 15.00 purchases that stick in my craw. I also use paypal for my brick and mortar credit card transaction handler, and its great, just swipe the card through the wee dongle plugged into my phone or tablet... the money is there immediately. Sales online NOT through ebay but paid through paypal... the money is there IMMEDIATELY.
I've yet to have a single off-ebay customer give me any hassle that made me think I was going to need those funds in there for a refund... ooohhh buddy. But boy are the eBayers different. Yikes.
I can't wait for this 90 day bullcorn to be up. I've already met the first two requirments - X amount of sales, X $amount of purchases... and now... we wait.

No they won't - I know this because they DID try to pull mine out, and lol, it 'bounced' because of the hold THEY had on my funds. 😛 I was amused.

Why would you take PP on a local pickup?

Yeah. No need to be a white knight for PayPal, since they won't be one for you. Contrary to what the pointy haired bosses here would have people think, PayPal is not mandatory on eBay; and for local pick up, PayPal is totally irrelevant. Cash only for local.

eBay's reaction to that may have come as a surprise to you.
