I had a buyer ask me to cal him in his first message sent. I told him that's against the rules and didn't respond after that.
2 weeks later I get a warning from eBay... here's the screenshot.
If another memeber decides to do this will I get another warning or possibly a ban for something I didn't do?

Life goes on, ebay...keep it up...more and more sellers are finding life sans ebay.
Well you know they are bored, everything else is working so well they don't know what to do with their time.

Seriously? That is something standard that I see in listings all the time!
OMG , Mine too ! Is this why no traffic?

"please" is the key word...your's doesn't have it, his does
"Please" sounds like desperation...the bots pick up on that
Oh, it's desperation all right - just not on the sellers part.

I think all sellers should put a note in their listing for buyers to call ebay CS with any questions they might have. They are open 24/7 for the user's convenience. And, it's a toll-free number, isn't it?
This way ebay would know, first-hand, that all is above-board.

I'll try a few with their 877 number listed...maybe the bots won't pick it up because it's their number...
You mean the ones that can't even distinguish between an internal ebay link and an external other site link?

I read all 18 responses and conclude this will be an awesome tactic competitors can use to get their competition eliminated for awhile. They can just open up a bogus acct and send such a message. It wouldn't matter if they got a warning too.
I am holding my breath because I got a similsr request last week and responded that this is against ebay regulations. Guess ebay will put me on an unwarranted vacatiion shortly. Ebay's greed is causing innocent sellers pain.

They wouldn't need to use any account at all even. They could just do it as a guest.

And yet when I post a screen shot of a seller to buyer message with their email and two off site websites clearly included, no one even comments.

On top of that, the bottom of the message states that my account isn't restricted right now, but any further and my account may be banned OR my listings could be hidden, are you SERIOUS?
I use this to support my fiance, 1.5 year old and my second child due in December...and now I don't have to just worry about changing my https to http or whatever, I now am getting warnging and threats against my account if it countines?! AMAZING!
I will call tomorrow...but even then...will 'Bob" overseas really be able to take this off my account...sure they'll say not to worry..but if i get ONE more buyer sending me their email or number then my account could be toast! This is ridiculous.

Yes they do...
