Here is my question, what is the exact date that GTC into effect this month? As a result of selling for 20 yrs I most likely will have to be done with Ebay, as with out Ebay I won't have any extra money to buy any thing on Ebay which in turn hurts other sellers as I can't buy from them. As I am a small seller on Ebay. Is there a end run of any kind to get around the GTC??.
... I think ebay is trying to drive out the small sellers. It is interesting that Ebay has nothing to sell at all, unlike the big "A" with out us they have nothing, and with out them we have nothing. It should be a marriage made in heaven between the two. As it used to be before 2008 when many changes started. Not marriage made in H-LL that is has turned out to be. Thanks in advance for any input.

You can read the update preview here I believe mid March is when GTC starts but the full update is April 1 so I might be wrong about the GTC start date.

Read this too. Seems they are already rethinking this change. I hope you won’t really leave over this small issue. You gotta look at the big picture.

I think you are right, Patricia.

I read that a bit differently. I think it is a very good article that can explain how some that are not use to GTC can view the information they need to see about managing their GTC. With some added information on the OOS function available for those interested in using that function. And other information that I think is good.
However it does appear that they are looking into and/or considering changes to the 30 renewal period. Maybe they will consider capping that at a once a month renewal for those concerned about months with 31 days. Or maybe they will come up with another alternative method. But this is the only area I see them, from the article, rethinking how it is or will be applied.
Just my observation.

Exactly! I think this is an intelligence test for the small sellers and might just help attrition of the habituated base that is SS eligible and GOML style. Perhaps that is not a bad thing?
But in reality or seriousness as above posters have noted, this is a tempest in a teapot. Make a small adjustment and revel in the benefits it brings!
Just saying.....

Imho now they're forcing ALL FP to be GTC, they should change the OOS option to be able to be applied to individual listings, not ALL GTC.

I figure just list as usual and when you see listings about to end, shut them down early.
If they don't show end dates, they should show start dates.

Here is the issue with ending the item early: just this week I had a sale within 5 minutes of the end of the item's 30 days. I had a watcher for 29 days and they bought it at the last possible minute. I have had several 'sniped' sales on a fixed price listing. Weird, but that won't happen if I have to end my listing before that.

Maybe we'll have to add a blurb to our descriptions letting buyers know that items will be ending earlier?

Oh but those sale may very well happen if you allow the listing to renew as a GTC.

Not a good idea at all. It is important to keep in mind these are business transactions, not personal transactions. Nothing in your listings should be seen as a negative comment on any subject. Whether it is returns, feedback or any other subject.

Mid anything is not an EXACT date.
