Why are eBay allowing continually poor ( deceitful) sellers to trade.
i have purchased 2 lots of dog food both stating Royal Mail 48hr tracked and delivery 2-3 days…. Neither have been the case. They are clearly either money laundering or doing some other illegal way of trading as days later they admit they can’t deliver and refund you???
complained to eBay and nothing done. They now have several neutral/negative and still nothing done.
they continue to waste peoples time .
I’ve been doing eBay for 20 years and I’m done.
Sick to death of their poor customer service

As I'm sure you know, eBay has no way to vet any listing for its accuracy or authenticity.
That's why eBay offers the Money Back Guarantee for buyers.
If/when a buyer receives an item that's not as described, he has 30 days to open an NAD case.
But surely you know that also. And certainly, with your years of experience, you are doing that when you receive an item that doesn't match the description. There's no reason to contact eBay. The MBG makes it easy to resolve this kind of issue.

I can't imagine my mailman delivering a bag of dogfood. I don't know how Royal Mail works but in the US if 15 smaller packages can take the place of a big one on a truck they will. Bigger stuff usually takes twice as long to arrive because of this.

Don't blame eBay if you are having problems. Blame the sellers you are buying from.
One way to avoid some of this is to check out a seller before you buy from them. Look at their feedback. Are they experienced or appear to be a new seller? Do they have any neutrals or negatives and if so, what is the reason for those? Did they respond and did it sound like they took care of the customer or did they leave snarky or nasty replies. Look at their "feedback left for others" and see if there's anything there that doesn't look good. Compare prices with other sellers; the cheapest isn't always acceptable.
If you are truly "sick to death" of eBay, there are plenty of other places to buy dog food, both in your local stores and at multiple online venues. Just look around and find one that works the best for you.

@heathercottage we here in the United States don't know how Royal Mail works in the UK

So surely, if a complaint is made by several people and negative feedback shows this… why are they still being allowed to trade?
If an item is marked as being delivered in 2-3 days and is required in that time as dog food….. 4 days later I complain as no tracking , no seller update etc and I’ve now had to buy dog food… seller won’t cancel order, has 3 days to respond then marks as dispatched and another 4 days later cancels order and refunds me saying they cannot supply!!!
since I purchased it’s happened several more times and several bad feedback BUT eBay haven't removed them?
Why not, it’s blatantly obvious they are playing the system

It’s EBay’s site!
they own/ design it.
if a person has lots of negatives (not referring to my seller) why are they not being removed?
ebay are allowing them to continue trading! Why?
it spoils it for everyone
Yes, I check everyone’s feedback before I buy from them and if they have 50 positive I will try them but if they let me down and then subsequently the next 20 customers and we all leave negative…. Why are they not being removed?
it’s EBay’s fault allowing them to keep trading… they run the site.

So they can’t recognise a negative feedback but can quickly give you a ‘first reply’ badge message to this post!!!
whoopee…. How flipping thrilling! Not!
id rather have a reply to my report of a seller going against eBay selling policies

Unfortunately, you might little sympathy from some on this board.
There are an awful lot of sellers here who have the opinion that when they fail to deliver as promised, as long as a buyer is refunded (eventually) the buyer should consider this a "positive" experience and eBay should remove any negative or neutral feedback the seller gets.
Baffling, but true.

Also was nice it contained some empathy for the OP. 👍

Dog food is expensive to ship compared to its cost, so I suspect that many of the sellers you see selling dog food by the case or by the bag are either very large commercial warehouse operations with many thousands of feedback -- which are not using standard retail shipping -- or else they are smaller users that are drop-shipping from such warehouses or even illicitly drop-shipping from retail sites such as Amazon.
It is unlikely that an individual user can profitably sell dog food and deliver it using retail shipping and still turn a profit.
Yes, I check everyone’s feedback before I buy from them and if they have 50 positive I will try them but if they let me down and then subsequently the next 20 customers and we all leave negative…. Why are they not being removed?
Such a seller can let a lot of people down before getting enough negative feedback that it becomes apparent that is what is going on and buyers stop buying from that seller and eBay eventually takes action.
eBay can not tell in advance whether a seller intends to deliver what was advertised, or if the seller is capable of delivering anything -- particularly if the seller is breaking eBay's rules about retail arbitrage by placing orders from other retail sites after an eBay order has been placed.
You may want to consider not taking a chance on a new seller with only 50 feedback ratings that is probably selling something by drop-shipping, and instead choose to purchase from sellers with much more experience selling and actually delivering something the seller actually has on-hand. Perhaps consider changing your cut-off to sellers with 250 feedback minimum for selling, and more than a year of selling history, and consider buying dog food locally or directly from a retailer rather than from someone intending to drop-ship from a retailer.

You replied this to me but I have no idea what you are talking about with the "first reply badge". You came on here asking for opinions/suggestions and I gave you mine but apparently you did not agree with it. That is fine; you don't have to agree with anyone who posts on here. You are free to take what you want and leave the rest.
I'm sorry you are having difficulty buying your dog food on eBay. I hope things get better for you.

I buy my dogfood online too, not a thing wrong with that. I dont drive and am unable to walk to a store, and carry home a heavy bag of dogfood. But I vet the sellers carefully, and have never had a problem in my 25 years of buying it here.

In the US ebay has a system in place to punish sellers who cancel sales.
I'm not sure how it's handled in the UK.
BTW, how would you guys like to be the 51st state?

your "first reply" badge has to do with posting on the community boards, and is automated.
boards are not run by eBay. Just here to deflect some of their work
posting here on the boards about a problem is just basically venting to the wind. You aren't dealing with/communicating with "eBay" here.
