Are other small sellers seeing low sales (and views) in 2021? I had a similar (lower) number of sales YTD in 2020 which I figured was due to COVID, but I'm 50% down from the number of sales (not $$, but that's another story) vs. 2019 YTD. I have lots of items listed, however I'm also seeing low views. And those with high views aren't selling, even with me lowering prices weekly. Not sure if it's my particular items, or whether other small sellers are also seeing lower sales in 2021. What am I missing? Advice on what I can do differently? Thanks in advance for any insights.

I’m seeing lower sales than last year this time. Between Aug- Dec last year I made 2k. This year so far $200.00. I had to lower items to $12.99 and finally seeing some sales, but not where they use to be. Barbie items are popular, clothes (forget it), Christmas items for the most part (ehh) and collectibles I’m having no success. I have been selling for at least 10 years and haven’t seen it like this. I’m actually selling for a friend and feel bad she is making nothing on really nice stuff. People want the items for practically free and they don’t want to pay shipping.

No traffic on my book site. I'v added 250 books in the last month. I've never seen zero views like this, maybe one book zero or two the most. Now zero views is prevalent. Its disturbing, I'm getting seriously discouraged. Called help several times and advised ... maybe you should sell something else. I'm not sure which is worse. 15% of the sale is about my limit on affordability. Promoted listings and upgrades did not help boost sales. Asking for help regarding visibility hasn't increased views or sales. I listen and take incorporate suggestions into my listings. I need help.

I cant compete with thriftbooks or wonderbooks or betterworld books. their inventory is below $4.00. all books $4.00. and free shipping. How? I asked second sale books about a dust jacket...does the book come w/ jacket and please advise on the condition of jacket...I get a reply ... we sell thousands of books a day and do not have staff to look for your specific item. Buy the book new and we can confirm a jacket. They sell thousands of books a day? Ive yet to sell a couple hundred a year. zero views ... becoming a prevalent site on my active listings. worse zero sales. If I pay 4-5 dollars a for a good book add shipping cost, time, I photograph all items, then fees... My book is priced $12 - $13 and a person offers $8. rose

I have to agree that something happened after the spring update. I was consistently selling on average 1K-2K per month in my spare time and now my sales have totally tanked. Sales come in spurts and when it appears things are turning around sales tank again.

I have had no sales at all for months also. Really strange. I was doing alright 2020! Then all of a sudden, something happened also very few views. The few vies makes me really wonder? Yes, sing the Spring. Something has definitely changed. I can't figure it out, but I am seeing a lot of people complaining. I am a very small business, but something is so strange.

Same here! My store is dead again, no bargain/offers emails, terribly low sales, page view also drops obviously even if it is a hot item starting from Oct.
Had try promotions, re-listing item and lowered price but nothing works…
My impression is everytime eBay made changes, seller will suffer a lot…such as Promoted listing, MP, now Categories changes(effective fr 12 Oct 2021)…

Exactly. I contacted ebay, but really don't have any advice or answers, other then what you mentioned. The fact that even the views are way down. Something must have changed. I don't know what to do.
Never was like this before. I have been selling for years.

Same here, I pull but one.
I put it someplace else.

I have been told by a previous discussion about having no sales and the lack of not having sales like we use to have.
We know that eBay will shut off some sellers because there numbers are way down(this doesn't make to much sense to me, but it does happen).

I am also running about 50% down with 180-190 Antique and Collectables listed. I thought it has to do with the dismal Democrat economy and perhaps also linked with eBay Item Specifics. I am wasting more time filling out required item specifics than setting up new items. We are not selling ink cartridges here. I called Customer service when I was required to add a date to a German Dresden Christmas Ornament. I sell antiques, how am I supposed to know what decade it was made. The clueless young person told me to call the manufacturer. I ask how can I, the allies fire bombed Dresden in 1944. Totally clueless Help Desk. Done with my rant. btw... LetsGoBrandon

My son and I decided to make the leap to full-time online sales about 2 months ago, after doing this part-time for a few years. Things were bouncing along quite well for us. We had a noticeable uptick in eBay sales this fall .. until all of sudden, sales dropped on 10/21 and we haven't had a sale since. So maybe the site updates here are to blame ... it's pretty strange that despite a huge increase in listings, we've had nothing for 2 days in a row.

there is many reasons for slow sales higher shipping higher ebay fees. cant really blame the COVID on this my sales was better this time last year. i think the reason for low views is because ebay is manipulating the search to cater to the bigger stores on here like the ones from China.

I don't know if I already posted in this thread or not. My sales dropped precipitously about the same time they started this category update. They started to tick up a couple days ago but I'm still down 20+ percent

As a 21 year eBay seller who has always listed "no returns" - I really don't believe that has much of an impact on whether an item sells or not. However, I sell very little clothing - just t-shirts. I also don't offer "free" shipping or pay for promoted listings.
Of course it is always possible that eBay has changed their search results algorithms to downgrade a no return listing.
