Variation categories

Does anyone know where a up to date list of categories with variations allowed is? The one that I find says that variations are allowed in "Electrical and test equipment" but there is not a category with that name anymore as far as I can tell.

I think your best bet is trial and error. I doubt CS agents would even know up to date categories. Many don't even know up to date policies.

It was either Brian or tyler@ebay that confirmed there isn't a current list for sellers to reference. This was a while ago when they were taking requests for categories that would benefit from variations.

You just have to pick a category in the listing form and you'll see right away whether variations are allowed or not.

Yea, you'll soon find out that many issues regarding variations get pushed back to the corner. Ebay doesn't prioritize it. Variations is such a mess overall that it discourages many sellers from using it.

I sell mainly in business and Industrial and despite finding a list of categories that allowed variations to include many in business and Industrial I have yet to be able to find one that allows variations.
