I for various reasons can’t access a computer so I’m subject to automatic payment and I have buyers who are mad and eBay won’t help

Yeah have you ever tried to use one? There's a waiting list usually. 30-60 minute limit usually. And who knows how far the OP lives from a library or if they have transportation. They literally said they have various reasons why they can't use a computer.

If you go to your My eBay page on the app and scroll down to Help it will pull up eBay's help portal on the app and at the bottom you can get help from Community - it'll pull you into a post-creation page on the Ask A Mentor forum.
But ... it's super inconvenient to try and use Community on the app. You're much better off going direct to Community through your phone's web browser.

Just for info......we frequent 2 local libraries at various times and never have all the computers been in use....doesn't mean that is true of everywhere....... as said there could be other reasons for the OP not to be able to use the library.......
but I'm not sure what his problem is either.......

I believe the OP has "Immediate Payment" set up and that is why his buyers are mad. Anyone know how to change this on the phone app? I don't use the app so can't help.

I believe you're right, but wastingtime101 offered at least a 'starting' answer right away yesterday (message #3) and also asked the OP for more clarity of their question ..... but they don't appear to be following up with this thread they started. It's a very frustrating thing that I wish was 'rare' here, but unfortunately it's not.

Thank you so much! Someone also pm'd me a visual on how to get there. And they also said they prefer to use the browser, but now that I'm looking at the app version, it seems very user-friendly to me! I wonder if they improved it since the last time you messed with it. Like you said, initially it lands on a post creation page for Ask A Mentor, but all you have to do is click the 3-bar menu on the top/left of the screen, and from there you can access all the forums to read/reply/post new topics to, and it looks exactly the same as on a browser but size-formatted perfectly for easy reading on a tiny screen. I haven't checked it on a browser but I would assume you have to do lots of pinching in and out, right?
Anyway thanks for the answer! I totally prefer using my computer for obvious reasons, but there are a few scenarios where I'm glad the app exists, even if inferior: Doctor's office waiting room, when my computer is in the shop, when the power/internet goes down, which happens A LOT where I live.

You're missing the key point @gurlcat which is you click the X to exit back out into the app to say, check a feature, and if you want to go back to Community you have to go through the same navigation path to reopen it. It's a lot of taps.
Vs if you use a browser on your phone, you can use a saved bookmark and get there with 1 click. The mobile web view & navigation on browser is exactly the same as what you're seeing on the app.

@susanb1872 "Immediate Payment Required" is not a factor here because the original poster does not have fixed price listings. All of their listings are auction format.
Therefore, the response I posted early yesterday providing a link to change their buyer requirement settings should solve the problem with a quick click or two.
If @roeric31 needs more help they can come back to ask.

I think a lot of people get IPR and autopay mixed up, or know the difference but accidentally write one when they mean the other, kind of like 'buyer' vs 'seller,' ha. Heck when I read Susan's reply I actually PICTURED the autopay preference screen, not the IPR checkbox on the listing creation page, even though she said IPR.

I see what you mean. The app version does have the 'back and forward' arrows at the bottom of the screen, but no way to go immediately to anywhere else, and no 'notifications, mail, profile' icons on the upper right.

You're welcome and yeah, I think you got it now. The simplest explanation is:
Community through the app is set up to get help with a problem through the help portal.
Community through mobile web is set up like it is on classic web, but with navigation / layout for small screens, and it's used for more engagement than asking a one-off question or browsing around for an answer.

You are correct girlcat. All things come to an end, just like the rotary dial telephone or push button phones or landline phones all together. I'll ride this PC wave for as long as possible.
