My "Tracking uploaded on time and validated" section on my dashboard just lost a couple points. I took a look closer and it appears I had two items recently that were "uploaded on time no carrier scan". Is it really fair to penalize me ebay for what the PO didn't do?
I had these items at the PO within my handling time why they didn't scan them is beyond me. The items did arrive to the buyers before the anticipated arrival date.
Do I need to talk to my PO office about this so it doesn't happen again? They apparently aren't scanning my items. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm one of the Old schoolers who still stand in line to get my package scanned in as Accepted, so no, this has never hapened to me. This is no hardship (standing in line) for me, and I get to say hey to the red headed postal worker who always smiles at me. Good Luck to you.

I went into the P.O. last week, stood in line and when I handed my 2 packages to the clerk and asked her if she would kindly scan them she said "you can just leave them, we don't scan them at the counter" and I asked her who told her that? and she said the supervisor so, I asked her to please get the supervisor and when she came back she told the clerk next to her -- "we're now scanning only 2 packages at a time".
Someone posted a link to the USPS website not too long ago that specifically discussed scanning packages and when I clicked to read it there was some great info that I printed. I keep in in my fanny pack in the event I come across another clerk who says they can't or don't scan.

Could be just another ebay glitch.
I had two items ship the same day, and I had the PO ticket with tracking.
ebay said I uploaded the tracking number on time...
And then had no scans... well USPS had every scan,
So with tracking in hand I called ebay...
CS 1 said, we can fix that.... well... I can't fix that please hold.
CS 6 said. we can fix that... well... I can't fix that please hold.
And then the phone goes... beep... beep.. beep...

I've been through this with my Postmaster, who told me no need to scan them, just put them on the counter. I Refused, You have every right to a receipt for your package, and to get this receipt, package must be scanned in. Now they know me, In almost every day, and no more problems. Good Luck to you.

Your tracking upload & scan metric is not real time. It takes a few days to update.
It's showing you what your current month stats are, but the 20th evaluation will be based on Nov,Dec & Jan.

Are you sure that you don't mean the "Late Shipment Rate"? This is the one where getting the acceptance scan within your handling window is important.
If you are looking at the "Tracking uploaded and validated" metric, then just having a delivery scan is enough to meet this if you uploaded the tracking within your handling window.

Yes.
My post office does not scan dropped off packages. They are trucked to the main city PO, where they may or may not be scanned before midnight PT that day. That is not going to change. Providing a scan sheet for my packages in a pile of random-packages-at-the-end-of-the-counter does not work.
Talking to your post office may or may not help.
Reading these boards since eBay imposed the Late Shipment Metric 18 months ago shows that each post office seems to have its own ideas about whether/when/how they scan dropped off packages.

I just love the way that every post office and postal worker has something different to say.
My very local post office has a fit if my packages don't have the "sent from" zip correct (the office closest to me is a different zip than my location - don't get me started on that post office inefficiency) as they say that they don't get credit in their volume count if the zip is different than the office zip. Which I think is not correct, but they are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
That being said - there are a couple of eBay sellers that use this post office. They very much prefer that we just leave packages and they deal with them during a lull. I (knock on wood) have never had them not scan a package before putting it on the truck to the regional hub.
But other posters are correct - there is often a delay in the updates to the eBay metrics. So long as it is not within a couple of days of evaluation, I don't obsess about those metrics.

@fern*wood Fern, my late shipment rate is at 0. My uploading section is at 97.73% (it had been 100%). I clciked on it for more info and it showed two recent sales and said no acceptance scan.

You are still having these issues?? I thought you got those problems taken care of last year?

When I look at the upload tracking/validated metric I get the following:
Not uploaded at all 0 0.00%
Uploaded late 0 0.00%
Uploaded on time but no carrier scan 0 0.00%
That shows that a carrier scan will validate your uploaded tracking. So if your items show any scan then they qualify. I don't see anyting about an acceptance scan. This metric has until the 20th of the next month to update.

Hi David 🙂
My PO has not changed its practices for dropped off packages, so I went with carrier pick-up well over a year ago.
After a months-long struggle (battle?) with my postmaster and carrier supervisor, the sub/new hire/contract carriers on my route seem to have learned to scan my packages as Accepted at my doorstep. The regular carrier on my route is a grizzled veteran who has always been great.
I provide a scan sheet even when I have only one package to be picked up.
