Hello Community,
I wanted to share some important updates regarding eBay’s payment and shipping changes that are set to roll out in 2025. These changes could significantly impact sellers, so it's a good idea to start preparing now.
eBay has announced significant updates to its payment structure aimed at enhancing security and user experience. Here’s what you need to know:
1. Introduction of Buyer Fees:
eBay plans to implement a buyer fee, similar to platforms like Vinted and Depop. This fee is intended to cover buyer protection and improve overall service quality.
2. Delayed Payments to Private Sellers:
Payments to private sellers will be withheld until delivery confirmation is received. This change is aimed at ensuring transaction security and building buyer confidence.
3. Mandatory eBay Shipping Labels:
Sellers will be required to purchase postage through eBay’s shipping system. This aims to streamline shipping processes and provide consistent tracking information.
While these changes are intended to improve the platform, sellers have voiced a few concerns:
To prepare for these changes:
By taking proactive steps, sellers can navigate these changes smoothly and continue to succeed on the platform.

Those are changes for the UK...........not the US
unless you can provide a link for the US
Note
Delayed Payments to Private Sellers:
US has no seller distinction.

The last information I read from you as a legacy seller was obsolete and inaccurate. I’m not so sure I trust your information , what is your source?

'mandatory eBay shipping labels'?....would that be 3rd party sellers or drop-shipping?

Posts and replies made by this member today do not resemble their former style at all. Something weird is going on with their account I think. Like here's a reply they made last month. -Note there are a few misspellings and grammar issues. But now they write perfectly, and with numbered lists for everything.

The picture alone is weird. Second only to the kid with the guitar.

Also note their signature is a weird clickable invitation thing. How many of us are likely to live in Myrtle Beach??? Just weird.

@gurlcat I agree - the OP looks 1000% like AI generated slop, probably from asking it to summarize a couple of recent articles in UK media about these changes because....all of that only applies to eBay UK.

Reads like it, doesn't it? Someone else was on here cranking out AI slop a few days ago - like 20-30 posts in a day.

It's just weird that it isn't a new account (like what bot posts/replies usually come from), but rather an established one with a history of normalcy, LOL. -I wrote to the OP via their store, to ask if they actually made these posts today. I acknowledged that they may have just used AI to help with their writing, which I wouldn't judge, but wanted to make sure there isn't someone or something hacking accounts in here, because that would suuuuuck.

I agree with your (and others) assumption this is all AI generated.
One thing I would add is that this is NOT eBay's version of AI which is about as basic as you can make AI without losing all of the "I".

I do not think in eBay's case that the "I's" have it. 😖

I seriously doubt this.

I've seen this person posting unhelpful similarly formatted AI wall of text replies for most of this week.
