Unsponsored items/ Where are they?

For sellers: A buyers experience.  After picking up on promoted listings by using eBay the way l always have, and noticing the difference in how items in a category are stacked, l decided l needed to find unsponsored listings hoping a return to basic, no one gets preference auctions would also embrace the former pricing most sellers used to make a sale and a profit without expecting to make the mortgage payment from a handful of eBay sales.

After inadvertently landing on Community posts from September and reading about bidding for tiers of item promotion and lots of data outside my knowledge, l did learn that sellers seem to be painted into a corner by tyrannical requirements that yield little if any benefit to lost merchandisers here.
l hoped to find unsponsored items hoping they were more reasonably priced, have lower shipping costs and just bricks and mortar sales without flashy photography and props to make me think what lm bidding on is a showcase from "Wheel".

Last week l contacted a seller through the link on her item page for merchandise around $65.  Shipping box required maybe 18x6x9. Weight 1.75 lbs.

Now l did not go the USPS site to check rates from her zip to mine but the fixed

shipping was listed $50, regardless zip.

l asked why her shipping was so high.

her reply was the eBay set the shipping price based on size/weight.  So l checked out other sellers with the identical item and most had rates $16-20.

l don't know about final value or eBays take per auction or sale but if a seller has to manipulate shipping to double or better to make a profit after fees---

well it just seems like time to rework the foundation.

lm no Einstein but l did pick up on the flashiest promos, come ons, photos,'prices to know l wanted to find the unsponsored sales.

There's my bit for whatever it's worth as a buyer to you guys who make it all possible by bringing the flea market, department store clearance and collectibles to a marketplace accessible at home where we seem to be stranded for a while yet.

l have lots of items from 2 estates l was thinking of selling here.  Reading about bidding for slots by clicks??  Enough to send me elsewhere.  I may find similar issues, who knows.  I don't have the patience in old age to learn tiers, clicks and bids for slots.  No one seems happy or content.  Thanks to you all again.
Can anyone tell me where or how to locate the unsponsored items short of scrolling to the end of the category?  Are they even located there? Anywhere?

we want them back.

Friends and l are supposed to be notified when certain items are listed.  Doesn't always happen.  We find things in the sold/completed listing that we never ever saw on screen or were notified of.  It's not good business, that.
