Unpaid Item Case Promotional Fee Not Refunded Since 2017

If a buyer does not pay for an item, eBay does not refund the promotional advertising fee. A seller has to call eBay and request a refund. eBay support team will advise eBay development team, yet this still remains the case today. This is reported to eBay on message boards since 2017. 😞

The fee should be refunded as a credit on your monthly invoice. Many of the posts stating that it isn't being refunded are from people who weren't sure where to look or didn't wait long enough for the credit.   It's possible there is a glitch but ebay's policy is to credit that fee if the sale is not paid for.

If memory serves, the refund is made on the month AFTER it is charged......which is the reason some people can't find it.........

 eBay Customer Support confirmed to me this year (2020) that it is not done automatically. A seller has to contact eBay Customer support and request a refund.

eBay customer support often gives out  mis-information.

Ad fees are refunded automatically- they're just not refunded instantly. They show up on the next month's invoice.
