Received $9 cash today in a white envelope wrapped in a white piece of paper with nothing written on in. Looked at my closed unpaid item and didn't see anything that matching $9. Buyers, if you are going to pay cash please write someplace inside or even outside of the envelope what it is for. As of now I guess it is for beer. 🙂

Of course! Karma demands that you raise a toast to whomever sent it.

Off subject...Hubby and I go for walks in the mornings and found a $100 bill in the parking lot of a bar last summer. I'm sure someone was wondering if they bought a round for the entire bar or drank it all! We went out for a nice meal and raised a glass to the clueless drunk!
On subject...OP, buyer's do have your address, as it is the return address on your packages.

It's always a good idea to check around vending machines.
Sometimes people forget to take their cash or the machines just spit them out.
I know, it's crazy, but it's true, cash on the ground.
Years ago my Daughter and I would walk up and down main street after all the business's closed and cars left, and you be surprised how much money you can find laying on the ground.
People would pull their keys out of their pocket along with change and it would roll under their car and didn't bother picking it up.

@1786davycrockettwrote:A-n-n-n-d the line forms, just to the right, of eBay posters who will now claim to be the mystery buyer, requesting that you send them -- whatever --, and apologizing for "forgetting" to write their names and addresses.
Sounds like guilt money, to me.
Or maybe a blackmail payment, for a really minor offense. Did you witness a jay-walking incident, maybe, and the perp is trying to buy you off for $9.00?
Nah, that is too much for such a minor offense. $9 would be hush money if you witnessed someone cutting a No Not Remove Under Penalty of Law tag off a mattress.
Also reminded of a novelty sign we used to have on the kitchen wall when I was a kid. I think we got it at Knott's Berry Farm...
An unmarked wallet containing $50 has been found. Will the owner form a double line on this spot to claim it?

You say you received said envelope wrapped in a piece of white paper with no writing on it. How did you receive? Was it in your mail box, on your door step, where was it? I would recommend never opening anything if you do not know who sent it in this day and age for safety reasons without wearing a good respirator and gloves, and stand outside upwind from the suspect package when opening, that's just my 2 cents.
Wow! It has been said, that there are wisely caution people; there are paranoid people, and then there is you.

@muttlymobwrote:It's not likely from a buyer. Where would they get your mailing address?
From the shipping lable or from the sales record file.
OP mentioned checking for NPBs. If it is a nonpaying buyer they should not have gotten a package so there is no shipping label.
As for sales record, I don't see seller mailing address on either eBay or PayPal for purchases. Is this available to buyers?
