USPS

WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING ABOUT THE POSTAL SERVICE.  WE SEND OUT PACKAGES AND THEY DON'T ARRIVE AND OUR CUSTOMERS ARE GETTING UPSET.  WE PUT THROUGH A LOST PACKAGE REQUEST.  DON'T HEAR ANYTHING.  THE CUSTOMER CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER SO THEY WANT US TO SEND THEIR ITEM AGAIN.  SO THEN THEY GET TWO PACKAGES!!!  SO WE END UP LOSING MONEY.....POSTAGE AND OUR PRODUCT!!  WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE POSTAL SERVICE??

And I on the other hand am experiencing a USPS shipment that has been "stuck" since the 12th. Perhaps you should stick to being on-topic, this isn't a cultural class.

Re: USPS

Good grief. No need to get so defensive.  Just pointing out a fact. Postmasters don't get paid overtime but must travel to any office, anywhere, any time they are told to.  Some get stuck with 80 hour work weeks, no choice and no pay for it. They are salaried and that's all they get. Part time clerks and relief employees do not get benefits and the hourly pay is considered poverty level. Again, go try working for them. First you'll need about 8 weeks trying to pass the background check. If you succeed there, you are then thrown into a position with little to no training. Good luck.

Re: USPS

But--- if Indianapolis hub is the problem and buyers realize this and do not buy from Indiana sellers then ebay is losing money if product is not offered from other states.

I can attest to the fact that time was when some scanners would have a bit of an issue with the tape "reflecting" depending on the angle of the scan, but covering with "clear" tape does not seem to be a "present day" issue.

Anything with scanning issues is a operator error from the shipper.   Running 5000 plus in a row with no issues tells me that...

The yesteryear shippers  not covering the complete labels are as acharic as they come.

I have had no issues. A couple items took 1 or 2 days longer. A lot depends on what offices your packages go through. A lot are understaffed. Some are overwhelmed with packages that they now must process tariffs for. There is no system to handle what amounts to millions of extra packages that didn't have to be looked at before. Who caused that? You know who. Want to blame someone? DeJoy destroyed brand new sorting equipment quite some time ago that would have helped a LOT. No one ever answered why! Ask the current administration why they are firing people when my local office has been closed 3 times recently simple because there was no one to fill in when the clerk got ill. Little offices are one man operations. A few years ago, one of the local clerks had a heart attack. If the carrier hadn't been there dropping off mail, they might have died! No one there to help in case of an accident. A lot also depends on how you pack it. Even a tiny wrinkle in your label can make a scanner misread it. Trust me...I worked for the PO. The vast majority of employees work their butts off with management constantly breathing down their necks.  You've no idea what they are put through.

One of the top ten WORST jobs I EVER had is with the USPS.

I worked a temp job a the Richmond Bulk Mail Processing Center.

It was hell.

When I left I turned in my creds and hard hat.

My boss handed me back the hat and said, "Oh no.  Keep that for the next time we call you in."

I handed it back to him and said, "Don't bother.  I won't be coming back."

Bye

Re: USPS

I have shipped and received thousands of stuff through USPS for years. Never a problem. BUT the past two months- I have  4 pieces just sitting.  One went from Ohio to  Atlanta (Palmetto) to Jacksonville FL ( near where I am) then it went BACK Atlanta- and has been sitting there for several weeks!  The other arrives- departs and comes back???

I get my daily notice from the USPS- said it's arriving today- never shows up- and then the tracking just says moving thorough the facility.

This is insane...

Re: USPS

My package finally arrived at Glendale Heights yesterday. STILL WAITING for my USPS Text Message Notifications! Starting about 3 months ago I noticed more than half of the time the TEXT and EMAIL Notifications are not even sent anymore by them.

@ekmadonna  I was unable to get the feature even to work last week when I was trying to get text notifications. Tried for three days running and finally gave up. My very patient and nice customer's package finally broke loose and resumed its journey to her.

Re: USPS

The Post Office in my area (Iowa)  have stopped picking up outgoing mail in the afternoon as they always have, they pick up outgoing mail the next morning. So what that means for packages is when you drop a package off say 10am it will not leave that post office until the following morning. Every package I send out is delayed up to 24 hours. Also the Post Office is going to cut 50 million work hours so expect more delays.

ONLY TO LOSE ANOTHER $9 BILLION
