I left packages on porch for USPS to pick up, but today I got a message from them that the packages were not there for them to pick up.
Have you had this happen? Did they just miss scanning them and they may show up yet????

If the packages were removed but USPS says that they weren't there to pick up, it's a reasonable guess that they were stolen from your porch. It's an ongoing problem and getting worse during holiday season.
Personally, risk of loss is the reason I don't use the USPS pick-up service.
If you're going to continue to use pick-up service, I recommend you get a video doorbell or similar video service so that at least you'll know.

Well that sucks, they probably got stolen. I never have been brave enough to let the carriers pick up packages. I would rather drop them off so I know they have been received.
Oh, gawd, yes, I would never in a million years leave packages on my front porch and just hope that my carrier finds them before someone else does... especially in this season...

I leave mine on the back of the P.O. loading dock and even then I am starting to feel paranoid. But, while courteous, the staff inside were not thrilled by my taking all the mail inside to them. Plus the hassle of dragging them all inside.

I've read here at various times of people doing that: taking their outbound stuff directly to the PO loading dock, but I can't picture doing that myself. Our local PO actually parks a vehicle right bang in the middle of the access drive leading to the loading docks to discourage anyone from going back there, moving it only when the daily trucks make their twice-a-day visit. In downtown Chicago, you'd probably get guns pointed at you.
The message conveyed here is that either you order a pickup or you bring your stuff in the front door like everyone else. They do have a service door with a doorbell in the lobby, so you might avoid the Front Desk that way, but the loading dock is definitely off-limits.

That's why never in a million years would I ever leave customers paid for items out on the street unattended and take ALL packages to the POST OFFICE Personally to be scanned in by hand. I hope you find that they were just not scanned and not stolen. You may want to rethink this so called CONVENIENCE!

I've had that happen twice. At first, I thought my packages were stolen. Later that evening, tracking indicated they were scanned at the Post Office and not upon pick up.
Mistakes sometimes happen with new Postal carriers. I certainly hope your packages were not stolen.

The post office is miserable to deal with in general. On a positive note if it gets stolen from their loading docks that is a bit more of a felony than off the front porch. Luckily I don't ship too much postal stuff.

Have you had this happen? No - but I never leave anything on my porch to await pick up. Did they just miss scanning them and they may show up yet???? If tracking shows no acceptance scans as being received by your local PO or carrier other scans will show up at the various sort facility points as the packages travels up to point of delivery. If they don't show up on the tracking status then "something" not good happened at your porch.
