Hi,
So I recently shipped 2 packages 4 days ago, one was USPS Priority Mail and the other Parcel Select. I dropped them off at a drop off box inside a USPS building. 2 days ago, when I checked both of tracking numbers, only the Priority Mail package updated and still, the Parcel Select says USPS is still awaiting the package. The destination is to a bordering State, is it normal for Parcel Select to take this long to get its initial scan? Or do they not scan Parcel Select over the weekend?

These are the situations which have prompted eBay to gradually eliminate offering Parcel Select Ground as an option for sellers when purchasing postage labels through eBay. It usually makes more sense to just use Priority Mail.

lol.............I think this is the same supplier we use.......I'd never seen the "acceptance pending" before on anything..........but we had some problems a couple of months ago in that the bwrap was coming with a huge postage due (which we refused)........ Apparently, there was some screw up with it being charged by the PO at priority rates, but them paying only for parcel post..... We didn't use them for a while and then ordered some and saw the "pending" message, which I assume (no proof) meant that they had been put on some kind of "check their stuff list" at the Lancaster distribution center. We have since gotten the stuff fairly quickly with no problem. With the PO backups, I'm not surprised that anything is being delayed right now tho........

Hmm, the APV system should have caught that so you (the buyer) didn't end up inconvenienced.

It never was clear to us OR our small local PO what the problem was.... The seller insisted it was sent parcel select.......our PO got it postage due (or incorrect.....something like that)........According to our PO, problem was in Lancaster......they never should have accepted the package with "that" postage on it.....but I would have thought they would charge the seller.....at least according to what happens(should happen) with our stuff. It does come from a distribution center near Lancaster and whether they would have special rates that somehow didn't get applied I don't know. Last two orders have had no trouble with.......but did have to send back 2/perhaps 3 when the trouble happened.

The other seller I ordered from was in Cleveland and I figured it was closer to Detroit so I didn't select his Priority Mail option. Unfortunately, That was not a good decision on my part! It sure does! Thanks! I still have both orders showing no other scans, and will be out buying locally today. I've been using Fed-Ex Ground on more of my recent shipments and they even said they were having trouble keeping bubblewrap in supply.
