I just recently started selling again after registering for managed payments.
Ebay is now charging me a hidden fee of $17.xx for a shipping UPS label.
In other words the charge is for creating the shipping label.
I called and reported it and was told being looked into and in the interm to use USPS or FEDEX.
Anybody have this issue?

You mean you are being charged for the shipping amount +$17 or $17 total?

shipping amount plus 17

Ebay has a RACKET going on with UPS and FedEx. I get this charge every few months on a couple items. Ebay cannot tell me what it is for. I always demand and get a refund since they cannot provide proof of what it is for.....get in touch with Ebay and transfer to a Shipping Specialist...ask for documentation as to what it is or give you a refund. You may have to contect them 2-3 times before they get the picture.....but don't give up. Ebay needs to figure this out.

the system won't let me copy and paste because of the html format.

Ebay is well aware of this "issue"....don't let them tell you otherwise. They all know what is going on but until you ask the right questions they won't come out and tell you.

Interesting glitch - I just used UPS this morning with no issues.
Good luck resolving - I would avoid using UPS as suggested for now. If it is really heavy or unusually large, sometimes all that works for that price range is UPS.
Unfortunately, what is quoted to you for UPS and Fedex thru e-bay is often not the end cost, it is much, much higher. No surprises with USPS typically.

Also don't let these people on the board tell you its "Dimensional Weight"....that excuse has grown very old.....we put in the weight AND dimensions in to their calculator so it should figure it correctly.

it may take a day or two. wait and see when they send you the payout vs net.

This is nothing new... I raised the "additional $16 UPS surcharge " in December of 2020. I had a moderator look into it.... still not fixed. We found all of ours were due to Ebay not adding in the additional UPS charge for items over 20 pounds in the estimate tool. For the last 6 plus months we add $16 to the quoted UPS rate for heavier items to compare to Fedex/etc because we know we will be charged this additional amount when the charge comes in.

If this glitch is happening I would buy my UPS labels from somewhere other than eBay until it's fixed.

I send a lot of items over 20 pounds.....only 1 or 2 every month or so get this charge added. It may very well be an error in their calculator BUT why is it exactly 16,17 or 18 bucks?? How does that make any sense. I am convinced that this is on purpose and for no reason whatsoever except for UPS and FedEx to be a provider to Ebay.....basically a hidden scam. This was more hidden when we only saw it on our invoice that came once a month....how many people went back and compared actual vs charged shipping? I know I did not until about 8 months ago when a friend tipped me off to the scam. I guarantee that Ebay/UPS/Fedex are making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on this just because people do not pay attention to the final charge.

I don't use UPS or FedEx very often. But wonder if it would be worth to compare what eBay says it should be and what it might be on the shippers site. If it's a little difference, it's probably fine. Big difference, something must be up.
Does make me wonder what is up though. Unless eBay is doing the calculations with their own numbers, the figures should be sent to UPS or FedEx and a dollar value returned. I suppose it is possible it is excluding the fuel surcharge, but $15 or so seems high to me.

None of my items were over 10 lbs. Its not a weight/dimensional issue.
I sent some fishing lures USPS and there wasn't any shipping label fees.

the fee is for creating a shipping label for what I understand....
