Did you mean:

Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

I recently listed a 2-piece suit without the exact measurements included, although I mentioned in the description I would provide them upon request. This morning I received two messages from different buyers asking about the measurements, 1 asked about pants, another the jacket. The buyers seem legit, they both have several hundred positive feedbacks.

I was wondering if this is some sort of scam, I’m suspicious since the messages both arrived within a minute of each-other. Also neither responded when I told them I would be able to do it in a few hours when I returned home. Thanks.

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

I think your digging way to deep into it lol.

I take photos of all my measurements to cut down on messages as much as possible but I do get some here and their and direct them back to the photos.

If they as for a measurement that isn't in the photos; depending on what it is I'll do it but most times I don't and tell them we have free returns.

I'm going to assume it's the peter millar suit? I would recommend taking photos of the measurements and put it in your listing.

Nice suit and will probably sell fast if not today.

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

Not sure what kind of scam would come from asking for measurements. Could be 2 interested buyers, or the same buyer with multiple accounts.

By the way, buyers can't get neg FB, only sellers can. If you're going to look at a buyer's FB to see if there are red flags check the "feedback left for others" tab.

Number of FB doesn't really matter. I could create a brand new buying account today with 0 FB and be your best buyer. And a scammer overseas can hack into an established account or buy a dormant account with 1k FB and steal from you.

Why would you not post measurements in the listing? How many buyers walk away without asking for measurements because they weren't provided upfront?

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

This may be just me being peculiar, but, if there are not measurements in a clothing listing, I simply do not bid or buy.

In a category that's heavily saturated, why not make it easy for buyers to decide if they want to buy or not?

Thanks for the insight. As I a new seller I wanted to see if there would be a meaningful difference between sales on suit I provided measurements for vs not. Thanks tho!

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

What measurements are they asking for?

If they're common measurements (waist, inseam, arm length) they should already be included in your listing.

There are some that want to know the leg opening measurement. Or thigh measurements. Maybe they want the rise?

I don't see what scam there would be beyond getting you to get your listing back on the table to measure, again.

The leg opening tire kickers are like that.

Thanks, I’ll make sure to do it in in the future!

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

the more details / effort you put into your listings, the less questions you will get and a better chance of selling.

Just be sure that you update the listing with those measurements and any additional photos. Don't just send via e-mail.

First, it was mere coincidence that two people asked for measurements at about the same time.   Second, why would you expect someone to respond to a message of  "I will get back to you"?  I would not respond and would just wait for the measurements.

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

You can edit the listing and add the size info to it.  That should help.

I don't offer lots of measurements, but guys really do need an idea about the inseam.

My rule of thumb is to (try to) photograph as if there is no description and describe as if there are no pictures.

To do it any other way is foolish, IMO, especially with clothing, as category in which there's so much inconsistency in sizing even between items from the same designer/manufacturer.

ETA: When I ask questions, I rarely respond (except with an occasional "thank you" or "I'll watch for the message") when a seller says they'll send something later.

So to sum up ...

1) You offered to send measurements, and two people asked you to send measurements.

2) You said you would send them later, and they are waiting for you to send them later.

I'm not sure what sort of scam that might be.

Personally, as I believe I made clear, I'd not respond at all and hit the back arrow.

Re: Two simultaneous messages asking for measurements from different buyers.

You s/b including measurements, many potential buyers won't bother contacting you.

No scam & nothing to be suspicious about.  Also, I can't understand why you'd be expecting a response, they are waiting on you.  There's no reason for them to respond.  Also, most won't bother to respond even after you provide the measurements, though you may get a 'thanks' every now & then.

@evilla-shop  Just a caution though, with swimsuits being 4 way stretch, there's really no way to get accurate measurements.  It's the one thing I don't measure.
