Two item not as described returns from a fellow seller, for items that just didn't fit.

I have more and more Item Not As Described returns from fellow sellers and it's so disheartening.  Sold 2 different sets of underwear to someone who opened two separate returns for item not as described because they didn't fit her.  She purchased these Jockey true fit underwear that are suppose to fit a size S-L. It's described as such. Clearly they didn't fit her so instead of just opening a regular return, I offer 30 day free returns, she opened both as not as described.  I then realized she is a fellow seller of clothing, she sells a lot of knock off Coach stuff and knock off handbags.  She offer no returns at all and has a negative feedback that  says "seller wouldn't let me return this because it didn't fit".  She responded to the feedback with "no refund accepted".  So clearly she thinks that because she offers no returns the only way she could return it is to open it as not as described.  I'm just so disheartened by people right now.  I wish eBay would change the seller metric thing for crap like this.

Totally understand your frustration. This is really unfair to you. Did you by chance reach out to this buyer and explain that you accept returns and how she could have done them better? Not that it changes things in your case, but it could educate her on how the return system works and the impact she is having on another seller. If worded kindly enough you may get her to understand and not do this to another seller. Best of luck to you....

Re: Two item not as described returns from a fellow seller, for items that just didn't fit.

I did reply to her very rude email explaining that I offer free returns and that to please open them correctly next time.  She replied with that they were clearly not as described because they didn't fit her.  So she didn't get it all.  I placed her on BBL, it's just so frustrating.  Then you have to report her for return abuse to try and get them removed off of  your metric.  I really wish eBay would take away the whole metric thing when you offer free returns.  I'd be out of business if I didn't describe things correctly enough as I'd be dealing with a never ending pile of returns and paying for it.  It just really bothers me when it's another seller.  I feel like they should know better.  She has almost 1000 listings so she should know how eBay works I would think.

happened to me 4x this month already. reasons given: does not fit, don't like the color, didn't give measurements but they are clearly in the description, just changed my mind. Every one was immediately approved for return and I lost all the postage. A BOT decides automatically. Welcome to the world od not only buyer but Ebay scams.

Re: Two item not as described returns from a fellow seller, for items that just didn't fit.

I do not think your seller-buyer was confused. It was a deliberate choice to challenge the listing’s accuracy. If she simply wanted to return for fit issues, she would have opened a return at no cost to her. No, i think she found something in your listing that she felt was Not As Described.

I can’t imagine what that could be after looking at your listings for the TrueFit undies. Except to say there were no measurements in the listing.  If it was the fit that was in dispute, for the future i would consider adding the info from Jockey’s size chart that describes who can wear the S-L size. (According to Jockey, S-L fits sizes 4-14 and also gives the measurement range in inches for the bust, waist and hips.)

Some people are, well...I had someone file against me because the green of the green shirt I sold them was "disappointing", so they filed NAD.  😣  Fortunately, 99% of my buyers are brilliant.

Re: Two item not as described returns from a fellow seller, for items that just didn't fit.

She actually messaged me prior to purchase where I sent her a size chart.  A side note, she also sells underwear.  She has a no return policy so she thinks the only way she can return is to open it as item not as described because that is the business model she has.  Per her negative feedback, someone tried to return something for not fitting and she wouldn’t let them.  She was 100% not being honest.  I did call eBay and they closed them both out as a courtesy they reported her on both for return abuse.  Hopefully I’m not the only one reporting her.

A couple of months ago I had a buyer purchase 3 sets of underwear from me.  She left me 3 positive feedbacks then went and opened 3 chargebacks for doesn’t recognize the transactions.  I messaged her and asked her why she would do that. She said she didn’t realize she did and would look into it.  (How do you not realize she open 3 chargebacks?). I noticed she was also a seller.  I explained to her that eBay will likely kick her off if she doesn’t remedy it as 2-3 is the threshold for investigation.  She never closed them.  They were somehow found in her favor, which eBay paid because of seller protection, and they booted her off immediately.  It’s the only time I’ve ever actually witnessed them boot someone off.

Yep just had 3 do it to me and their comments were in the return case was just didn't like the color. I also have free returns. Way too many buyers doing that lately.

Sounds like the classic glass house dweller throwing stones

I just read where in 2020 clothing has the highest return rate of online items at 21% followed by shoes.

One thing is that ebay grades these metrics on the curve or so they say

Re: Two item not as described returns from a fellow seller, for items that just didn't fit.

No reason for the buyer to have opened a case and say the items were not as described when the outcome would be the exact same to the buyer if they had just opened up a case for return because the item didn't fit. I wonder about the motivation of people who do things like this.

Take it all in stride. There are people who delight in trying to pull others down because that is just the type of person they are.

Good on you and so sorry this happened to you. It is obvious you are a conscientious seller.
