Trump tax 25% on Canada - Who is collecting?

I am considering to put the store on vacation for the next few days, I doubt there will be many cross border orders anyhow, to avoid the chaos. I don't want buyers to refuse packages and me have to pay return shipping cross border.  Any news from ebay how it will be collected?
- By Ebay at checkout?

- By the shipping company, which will add a broker fee on top of it?

So you are telling me that Trump is fit for office. Here is a brief discussion and quotes from Trump on the California fires and water situation. His understanding of science is that of a kindergardner. In Trumps view the world is a ball, and of course water flows downward over that ball (genius).

"So let’s consider the nonexistent valve, which he discussed during his campaign, and the needlessly empty half-pipe, a newer imponderable that he brought up at the Friday Roundtable before issuing his order. In Trump’s view, this imagined infrastructure lets “hundreds of millions of gallons of water flow down into Southern California” from the north, if only we’d let it. How far north? Trump earlier spoke of Northern California, but by Friday he said the source was “the Pacific Northwest.” By the end of the day he claimed the water flowed down — “naturally” — from Canada. It flows so steadily from north to south, he said — and has been doing so for millions of years — that we don’t even need reservoirs. If only we would turn the spigot, it would just keep coming."

Of course, i think he is fit for office. People need to understand how Trump works. If he wants to make a point or bring something to light, he will embellish it so the media will criticize him which will also bring the conversation front and center. The amount of earned media he receives is amazing. Yes some of the stuff he says is borderline comedic and wild but i would rather have someone out there talking than being hidden from the public while other unelected people are running the country. Elections have consequences.

Do you think it was appropriate for the Dems to lie to Americans about Bidones health?

No one likes to answer that one and will be the reason why the D's will continue to lose support. It is ok not to like the president and challenge everything he does. Why can't you do the same to your own party that lied and cheated which ended up costing you the election?

Re: Trump tax 25% on Canada - Who is collecting?

I think the biggest beef with Canada was jealousy when someone made eyes for the leader up north.

Anyway, I'm surprised about all the worry over why the Democrats lost, instead of worrying about where the Republican party disappeared to.  I see nothing today that resembles that party.  I'm sure John McCain would not know where to sit now.

I am not happy about the way the democrats failed to acknowledge Bidens physical and mental decline (although I would still take Biden in his present mental state over Trump). However, that does not excuse Trumps obvious mental issues. He is a compulsive liar. He is petty, vengeful, ignorant, and not very bright. It is not "just the way Trump works", it is the fact that on most issues he is clueless and incurious. He seems to enjoy being ignorant and uninformed. He makes critical decissions, with total disregard to facts. He also is antiscience, which I find inexcusable.

It has to be part of the reason for Trump's nonsense talk about Canada as the 51st state.

It will never happen, but it just shows Trump's encyclopedic ignorance. Canada would become the most populous state with the most electoral votes, many seats in the House, and two US senators. Under the current system, it's unlikely that Republicans would ever win a national election again with Canada and its largely progressive electorate in the mix. But that's Trump for you, a true stable genius.

I think you are still missing the point and why your party will end up losing again. The best thing Trump did for Republicans was getting rid of the war mongers (old guard) that were destroying the world in the name of national security. Their needs to be term limits for all levels of Government. Who actually wants more McCain, Cheney, Haley, Mittens, Lindsey GramCraker, the bush family..... and so on.

It is important to have a legitimate Democrat party with leaders that actually push for what the majority of Americans want. Choice is good. Being ok how your party lied, cheated and treated you should alarm those who actually care and want reform. Don't hate those who voted their conscience when the ones you should be focusing your anger on are the ones that allowed this to happen. Liz Cheney did a rally with the one that fell from the coconut tree. Align yourself with those who share your values.

Re: Trump tax 25% on Canada - Who is collecting?

The reason for the tariffs with canada and basically any of the countries we will be tariffing is our country was ran so poorly under the last administration that democrats allowed the trade deficit with canada to more than double over sleepy Joes term. They literally were not doing anything and allowing our country to be gutted by other nations because the run of the mill politicians we have are actually doing it to gain personal wealth so they allow these horrible policies to flourish because they are totally fine with making their own citizens go broke. but then we caught on and voted for Trump again because he's not going to sit there and have no clue what is happening or too scared to tell a foreign country to reign the deficits in. So tariff for you tariff for you. anyone who wants a tariff can get one now. we got em for all of ya.

It is not as black and white as you state. The truth is, as this excerpt from from a Times article notes:  "The trade gap in goods with Canada has ballooned, too: From $31 billion in 2019 to $72 billion in 2023. The deficit largely reflects America’s imports of Canadian energy."

And no Drill Baby Drill will not ease the defecit, as our refineries cannot process oil pumped in this country.

I don't know why MAGAts cannot absorb this fact, or if the absorb it they just pretend not to, and keep parroting that idiotic phrase.

We cannot USE the oil we pump; all we can do is sell it!   And by "we" I don't even mean "America" because it is COR-POR-A-TIONS who pump and sell it, to countries who CAN refine it, and then sell that to other American corporations!  We could Drill DADDY Drill and it wouldn't do a thing for the average citizen!  Even our "reserves" aren't there for using ourselves; it's just a strategic amount to hold as leverage if needed.

We will be ok with energy.  Maybe a blip at first but energy is not going to be an issue long term.  Refineries are the weakest link, and we will see if there is any plan to rectify it. Time will tell. It would be nice if Americans did get a sort of profit sharing cut from oil pulled from American territories. Things are going to change, and Doug Bergum will be one of the people to watch. I thought i read months ago that nuclear, natural gas and clean coal would also be part of bringing energy independence back to the US.

Our oil reserves were used during the last administration and need to be refilled. I agree they need be left for leverage and/or emergencies.

Let me ask you something, because Trump told us in February 2020 that Covid would be over by April, that it would just "disappear like a miracle," and his "fans" never seemed to mind one bit that it was absolute bull.  But they sure continued to rant about the price of "Biden's" gas long after it had lowered back down, close to pre-pandemic prices. Everywhere I looked I saw that complaint continue to be milked, for at least another year.  The sense of time is very strange with these folks, though I'm not sure if you're among them or not.

So let's say gas rises to the same price as its' highest during Biden's term.  -Just for the record, under Trump, how much time would pass before you'd consider it going from 'blip' to 'long term'?  A matter of weeks?  Months?  Years?

Re: Trump tax 25% on Canada - Who is collecting?

it is 100% true. hard to argue with verifiable facts. Canada took advantage of Joe Bidens condition. He didn't even know that canada was taking 41 billion more per year from him so we had to bring back Trump because he doesn't let you swindle our elderly. Joe Biden was like a nice old grandpa and you took advantage absolutely morally and ethically wrong to do. you get Trump and I give you a tariff.
