I am a first time seller on eBay my item was sold, and the buyer let me know that he received it. I used eBay shipping label from my understanding will have tracking, during this process, the buyer said on his end, it said no tracking. so I’m asking how does eBay know the package was delivered? Does the mailman scan the eBay label again? The buyer received his package on a Saturday and I understand it takes 2 to 3 business days for the hold on my payment to be lifted my main concern is when I check on my status. It doesn’t say delivered on my end, is this normal? Can somebody please let me know that even though my customer got my package that eBay is aware that it was delivered. Thanks

I have a great mailman and yes he scans my dropoffs as well as deliveries. I typically get emails on packages.

You can look at the tracking number yourself and see if it shows delivered.

Just click on the tracking number.

You also should read about "payment holds"

You are a new seller. New sellers usually have 30 day holds on any payments.

If you never get a delivery scan, you will be paid around 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

No, if tracking doesn't show it was delivered, Ebay doesn't know if it's been delivered or not.

If you shipped USPS, go to usps.com and see what the tracking shows.

Have a great day.

That’s just it after I dropped it off at the post office. I remember getting a receipt and I seem to have misplaced it. I’m 99.9% sure that after I came back home, I looked at my phone and there was a tracking number, but it seems to be gone now.

Thank you for the information. I did read The payment hold policy, but I did not see the part about being a new seller that we have to wait 30 days it’s just weird to me. and like 1 million other people don’t have said you can’t get a hold of them!!!

No, it is not normal for tracking not to show item was delivered.  Did you purchase label on EBAY?  If you purchased USPS at the post office (you would need to manually enter tracking# on EBAY) and then it will track your shipment.

Did you send your item by Media Mail or First Class Mail?  Normally, USPS updates show all locations as it travels across the United States.   Some of the cheaper services only show (departure location and delivery location) and not every stop in between.

EBAY gets their tracking information directly from USPS, FedEx and UPS.   Sometimes there seems to be a delay and item will show delivered at a later date.

Because you are new Seller EBAY holds payments for 30 days AFTER you ship item.  Normally, you get paid 2-3 days after you SHIPPED item.  As long as the customer received the item and is happy there is no problem.

You get paid when you SHIP ITEM and not when tracking# shows delivered.   Of course, EBAY protects the customer and if they file a case against you "item not received" you would have "give the customer a refund" because you could not prove it was delivered.

EBAY 30-Day Money Back Guarantee protects customer if item is "not as described, defective, counterfeit, missing parts" or "item was damaged in shipment or never received item".   If you don't have enough money available in your "pending funds" EBAY will take money out of your "bank account to refund the customer" so it is a good idea to keep a "slush fund" in your account in case problems arise.

Look in Orders > Paid & Shipped.

Then click the tracking number link for the item you shipped.

Then click the tracking number again from the eBay tracking page.

That should take you to the shipper (USPS, USP, FedEx).

What does it say on the shipper website?

The OP does say that they used an Ebay label.

No - the cheaper services such as Media Mail get just as many scans as the more expensive services. If the label is printed clearly you should see no difference in the number or detail of the tracking info regardless of what level of service was purchased.

If the label becomes defaced or illegible along the way then it is possible that the only entry after that will be the Delivered scan as the carrier must be able to show that it was delivered and he has the option of keying in the tracking number manually if the bar code is no longer legible enough to scan.

I used an eBay label. I printed it up here at at home from my understanding, it says that it will give them tracking

It does and the buyer will be able to see the tracking number too. (He has direct access to it through his purchase history on Ebay so you do not need to actually send it to him.) Were you able to find your tracking number by looking up your sold item following the steps that @ltldpr gave you in a preceding reply above?

Hi @kenwil_6501 . Go to this page. My eBay > Orders

Do you see the tracking number? It should be there if you purchased the label through eBay.
