I bought a really beautiful Art Nouveau pillow cover from WA state...was supposed to be two of them, and was supposed to be blue. Got ONE and it was yellow. Messaged the seller and got a reply we have refunded you and just donate the one or keep it. OK.
So I go to my bank, no refund yet. Go to Purchase History...and dang if there isn't an item UNPAID...the blue pillow cover! I am not paying for it (because I have no idea at this point what I will get), and I have NO idea how it got there. How does this happen???? What do I do...I have never not paid for anything that I won or BIN'd. There is also no way to cancel it. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Why the seller didn't just offer to send me what I ordered.....I have no idea. I didn't want a refund, I just want what I bought.

An unpaid item case can't be opened on an item that was paid for and refunded.

You might be able to archive the transaction so that it is out of sight..out of mind.

Like I said, stop worrying about it, it will ‘age off’ in a few weeks.

When a customer is refunded, it reverts to Unpaid on EBay.
Unless you paid directly with your debit card, which I understand isn’t allowed anymore, your refund is probably pending or even cleared at PayPal

No, really.
Ive both refunded a customer return, and cancelled an order myself as a buyer.
It isn’t paid anymore so it changes to unpaid - lazy programming

And an unnecessary (aggressive) prediction - customer got THE WRONG ITEM
And we wonder why buyers go elsewhere and EBay enacts burdensome new rules to entice them back.
