What the heck is going on here? On top of pictures disappearing from listings, I just got an email from Ebay saying I lost my Top Rated Status, but when I go to my performance page everything is within limits, and it says my current seller level is Top Rated, and if evaluated today I would be Top Rated.
In addition, on my Seller Dashboard it is saying that: "307 listings don't qualify for benefits. On 307 of your listings, offer same or 1 day handling time and a free 30 day return policy to save even more."
I offer 1 day handling time and 30 day returns on ALL my listings!
What the hell Ebay? Did someone not proofread the code on the last update?

But you don't get the TRS Plus badge (or the FVF discount) on any listings that don't offer FREE 30 day returns.
Was it your "global" TRS?

By "Free" returns do they mean that I have to pay the return shipping in cases of buyer remorse? My settings indicate 30 day returns, no restocking fee, buyer pays return shipping (except in the case of damaged or defective of course).

Yes. "Free" mean paid by seller.

By free returns they mean free returns for any reason, with no restocking fees. If you offer free returns you can deduct up to 50% off if you have an item sent back damaged, etc.
This was announced in the recent seller update.

I believe you must offer Free Returns - Paid by Seller to retain your status.
A seller can still be a TRS, but they get no fvf discount and the dog badge is not displayed.

Have found NUMEROUS listings with missing images. Been working all morning on replacing said images.

Thanks for the clarification everyone.
Yeah--that is too much financial risk for a small seller like me. I know there has been discussion of Ebay cracking down on people who open too many returns, but that is just too much risk and too many hoops to jump through for a small discount.
I appreciate the responses!

Actually, you have been doing it all along. It is called a SNAD claim. The difference now is that your buyer need no longer lie to get a free (paid by you) shipping lable should you opt in to "free" returns. Makes for a better buyer "return" experience.

Buyers are too used to filng SNAD"s to get free returns. They aren't going to even notice the change. It's just a stupid one.

I have had very few instances of people filing SNAD claims against me and winning. I think maybe in all the years I have sold, maybe 3? I post tons of pictures, dimensions, material descriptions, and try to stay away from selling problem items like electronics.
Offering free return shipping for any reason opens a big can of worms I don't want to deal with. Fickle buyers who change their minds, people who spend too much and then realize they need to get it back to pay bills, etc. If I sell a heavy item for $20 plus shipping, it costs $10 to ship it to them, and then $10 to ship it back--I have to refund the seller the orginal shipping so I am out $20 in shipping for the transaction. Can't do it.

Just got the email from eBay telling me I lost TRS over "global" factors. The only defect I have globally is that I haven't sold 100+ items a year INTERNATIONALLY. The TRS badge has been pulled from ALL listings, and no more 10 percent off FVF.
Also, I've noticed missing pictures in my listings, which is scary for a small seller like me, but I could imagine a guy with 1000's of listings freaking out. All in all, it really looks like some dirty tricks are being played by eBay, in making the environment hostile to users that sell on their system. There are no more flaming hoops to jump thru anymore, just paying to play on a controlled (unfree) marketplace.
