Top Rated Plus Seller Status Not Worth it

I switched all of my items to meet the top rated + requirements only to find out that I'm getting brutally taken advantage of. My Top Rated + level will soon fall off as I also sell items in envelopes with stamps as opposed to tracking numbers and first class shipping. Despite 100% positive feedback on those Items, I get punished for not adding tracking numbers to a micro transaction. (Stickers) However I want to point out that the "10% discount" is actually 10% of 10% (final value fee) meaning you only actually get a 1% discount on final value fees. The week that I was a top rated seller was by far my most quiet week. My sales dropped 23% Many people aren't noticing the discount because its literally 1 penny per dollar. Now what did I have to do to earn this "Discount" I have to offer free shipping so eBay members can take advantage of me. I also have to switch my handling time to 1 day which is horrible for any IT problems. "Broken printer etc." Personally I would recommend against making changes or sacrifices to obtain Top Rate +. I now have to spend an entire day switching all of my listings back to 2 day handling and no returns. P.S. eBay members abuse top rated sellers more often under the psychology that they care more about a negative feedback when in reality most "Top Rated" sellers have hundreds of negative feedbacks left each month.

Re: Top Rated Plus Seller Status Not Worth it

There is something wrong going on at Ebay.  They must have a shortage of workers.  After one hour on the phone, and after 3 transfers to different departments, no one there knows what is going on with Top Rated Plus, and after doing all that I was told I was going to do to be Top Rated Plus, and waited another 30 days for it to kick in, it did not kick in.  But, after a hour on the phone the agent disconnected the call, and I was kind, just asking for answers, mostly holding, because he had to check with his supervisor over and over again.

Then I chatted with a Ebay agent, and she was useless as well.  She told me to call Ebay as she could not help me.   Really Ebay?  Is this why people are leaving Ebay and why sellers have such a decrease in sales???

You are showing as a Top Rated Seller, but for any of your listings to qualify for Top Rated Plus status they have to offer free returns along with same/one day handling.   The ones I looked at did not have free returns.

Re: Top Rated Plus Seller Status Not Worth it

It's a shame that you wasted ll that time with customer service.  The Help page about Top Rated Seller status clearly states that you have to offer 30-day free returns. I checked a couple of your listings and they said that "Buyer pays" for returns.  If you change that, then the TR-Plus badge should show up right away.

Re: Top Rated Plus Seller Status Not Worth it

im a top rated seller. i tried top rated plus for a short period of time. I agree it is not worth. I offered free shipping and free returns and customers can just return for what ever reason they want. one customer change their mind because they found a cheaper one. i had to pay for return label too. so technically i paid for two labels, one for sending and one for return plus no sales and no profit. imagine having 2 or more returns a month (T - T)  just let ebay keep the 10% discount.

Free shipping is not a requirement for TR-Plus.
