Time to stock up on popcorn.

With the upcoming tariff induced price hikes coming along with the inevitable USPS price increase I suspect these boards are going to explode.

I do like a good train wreck.

Time to stock up on popcorn.

At least it wasn't Newsom and his California prop 47.

At least the people are starting to wake up with positive Prop 36.

47 has had an impact on eBay. Couldn't imagine putting someone in power to try and push things like 47 on the entire country.

Dejoyless should resign and let someone else take a crack at it. Just like any other institution that plays by the same rules as we all do, everything should be merit based. And as far as i am concerned, he has fallen well short of his duties. (regardless of the situation) Change is needed quickly.

Unfortunately he is being successful in what the big money folks want him to do.  He and others supporting him want the postal service to fail so it can be privatized.  Then he and his rich buddies can take it over for profit.   His conflicts of interest are telling.

There does not seem to be any sense of urgency by anyone and that is telling as well. He should resign and if he does not, there needs to be others pushing for change. I just don't see it and we will be stuck with what we have. Who knows what will happen in the future. I just know someone else deserves a chance to turn it around which mathematically seems improbable. IMHO

I understand what you're saying but in REALITY there is no government employee that any PRESIDENT can't find a way to fire.  They can also "ask for resignations".  Not only that but you should look into Schedule F.

There's nobody who would want to have a microscope on their lives by any POTUS.  They have a million ways to make a federal employees life miserable if they want to.  And I don't think there's a single one without "secrets".

Imagine sending the headquarters of the IRS to Barrow, Alaska.  I imagine a lot of people would quit.

Also the USPS can not be privatized, it's actually in the Constitution.  It can be managed better.

Yes, but it can be reduced in size. No? I just hope it can be managed better to be made affordable as it was before.

I'm going to say people misuse the constitution defense, when it doesn't actually prevent the USPS from becoming privatized.

The constitution gives congress the power to have authority over the USPS, and congress could infact pass legislation that would allow for the USPS to be privatized.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 7, often called the Postal Clause, which states:

"The Congress shall have the power... To establish Post Offices and post Roads."

Well I've been saying for a long time I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how sending millions of cargo ships back and forth all over the world every year is "green".

One of the main reasons the US deploys billions of dollars worth of military assets (bought with the help of  American taxpayers) around the world is to ENSURE that the shipping lanes used by those cargo ships remain unobstructed.

Because when it comes to making sure that American consumers can get any piece of foreign-made garbage their hearts desire, "green" is irrelevant.

Now, the less we import from China and other countries, the fewer cargo ships there will be to worry about.

I am not sure whether and to what extent this might translate into a reduced need for an overseas US military presence... but one thing we can be certain of is that the largest American defense contractors are going to be watching the evolution of a new US trade police very carefully.
