I don't have a store. When we go on vacation I have always just increased my handling time to as much as three weeks and never had an issue. We are moving and since I have mostly Christmas stuff listed, I thought I'd try Time Away, especially if it makes it more obvious to buyers that my items won't ship for the couple weeks it might take us to get the office set up again. Has Time Away worked well for you? Where do I even find that option?

I hope all goes well. With all of that going on I personally would hide my listings and not worry about getting them back up quickly, or at all, for awhile.

All the best to you and your husband. Will keep you in my prayers.

To install time away you will put in the account section and will not automatically renew, so why don't you extend the time beyond the necessary time in case you don't return in time because ebay gives you the right to end early to reopen it

Sending out best wishes for the surgery (I am sure atop the move this is stressful) and whatever else you need.
If you get into a pinch with an order - email your Buyer, especially over the Holiday weekend. Most (not all), but most are very understanding. Good luck with everything - keep us posted in case you need something more. God bless!

I always try to disable buying in any situation that I'm not able to fulfill orders normally. Though this is just a hobby for me.

Just wanted to add this in case anyone was experiencing the same confusion. Apparently even when your item ends during the time away it won't show the correct expected delivery date until your Time Away starts. So in my case that means my open listing that is accepting bids currently shows estimated delivery May 19-May 24. So because my Time Away was set to start on May 14th it isn't currently showing delayed delivery and received a bid. In a few days when my Time Away starts the auction will update to reflect a later expected shipping date even though that was NOT the expectation when the bidder bid. I think this is poor practice and reached out to the bidder directly to see if that will be problematic. In my opinion eBay should use a calculation and state that if the item ends during time away to apply the Time Away delay. Or at least some disclaimer "if you Buy It Now delivery date is xyz... if you bid the expected delivery date is xyz". Super frustrated that my buyer may have a bad experience because I know a lot of the things I buy I'd be pretty angry if all of a sudden they were delayed 2 weeks.
