Here's something I haven't encountered before.
USPS just delivered my mail for the day and I received a mysterious package with my address on it (but someone else's name) and a return address that is based in Frankin Park, CA.
I checked the USPS tracking number via their website and it shows the package is from Glendale Heights, IL which is the location of Ebay's global shipping program. Okay...so maybe it is one of my international orders that has been returned to me?
I then peel off the USPS shipping label and underneath is a second shipping label. This one is via BKPHR and there is a different tracking number...I input on an international tracking website and the tracking information shows that it is a package coming from China.
Here's the thing. I have no open returns on my Ebay account. None. So I don't know why this came to me?
Has anyone else ever had something like this happen with an Ebay global shipping order? Does Ebay start the return process once the package has been delivered back to the seller? I'm not sure what to do in this case?

@cobra_viper Reminds me of "brushing' I had this happen for over a year with Amazon packages.
Strange items would show up addressed to me, that I didn't order and wasn't charged for.
It's some strange thing Amazon sellers do to create fake sales history. I don't know if it would be of any use on eBay but since they're doing this new auto feedback after a few weeks, I suppose it's possible.
Most of what I received were cheap garbage but there were a few items that were of use to me. Amazon said, keep it, donate it, toss it whatever, it's yours.
Some people do it for more nefarious reasons..

Maybe your address was used to prevent shipping charges back to China. This may be only the tip of the iceberg. You'll probably get more.

@cobra_viper : That tracking data is making my head spin but otherwise I agree with the above. The Chinese sellers want credit for actually accepting returns but do not want to actually have to pay for international return shipping. So they pick a name and address for someplace deliverable in the US and apparently you have been chosen - at least for a while. There is nothing for you to do - except open the package and tell us what is in it!

The package wasn't going back to China. It is an Ebay return from someone who mailed it back to the U.S. from China.

If it went through the eBay international shipping program, then any returns go back to their shipping hub, not to the seller. Perhaps it's a seller mistake?

Did you open it to see if there was an paperwork inside?

If Chinese seller used address for return, why bother paying for return when they can refund and save the return postage.

It is very odd that New label with your mailing address was placed on it ,when Ebay's EIS should have gotten it back since they take full responsibility with the international buyers . Also in they tracking is showing bouncing looping of the parcel with the other sorting plants do to CR code . yet it is still odd how EIS just picked you out to get that package .

That's what is weird. It did go back to the shipping hub...then they put a new (USPS) label over the China label and shipped it to my address.

I did. There was nothing inside of the package except for a children's toy play set...which is not something that I sell.

Agreed. On the 14th it was delivered back to the Ebay global shipping warehouse and then they mailed it back out via USPS on the 15th to send it to my address. This whole thing is confusing...especially since I have no open return requests on my account...and I didn't sell the item that was inside of the package.

Well it makes you wonder about the employee training at the Ebay EIS warehouse and where was the supervisor's and management running the place.

@cobra_viper Did you happen to purchase something from overseas? Just wondering if they put the wrong label on the wrong box.
Just a thought...

I never buy anything from overseas and I rarely ever buy anything with my Ebay account.
