The customer is always right.

I received a message today from a recent customer.

He bought a part from me from a variations listing.

He bought the wrong part.

He wanted  a 3/4" but purchased a 1/2" and was sent a 1/2".

He blames ebay for the mistake.

"The EBAY page goofed during the pay process."

Even if that was the case, it clearly shows WHAT was ordered.

I offered to send him the correct part free of charge,

I just wish he admitted to making a mistake instead of blaming it on ebay.

Some people can  not/will not take responsibility for their mistakes.

I forgot to mention...

He also said "Do I have to contact ebay about this?"

What would ebay tell him if he accused them of "goofing" up his order?

Hi @inhawaii

Sadly, many people want to blame someone or something else for their mistakes.

True.  If every one did, though, think what a ghost town this place would be.

@inhawaii

You should have asked for a screen print of the item purchased on their side, of course to discuss it with goofy eBay.

@sakic92710

LOL!  I allow myself 5 per week ... that seems to work well for me.  By the way, you should have used "prove" instead of "proof" ... type-o right which is different from a mistake right?  rrrrright!

I can't tell if this is a joke, or sweet, sweet irony.

Yeah I see that with fair frequency, I've also received negative feedback over it and I've had buyers open a return stating I sent the wrong part when in fact I sent exactly what they ordered.
Best answer is be very polite, play the game and don't fight the buyer.

I'm not conceded.

Being conceded is a fault.....

and I have none

Most certainly they would say they are sorry he didn't get what he ordered and to return it which opens the seller (you in this case) up for a SNAD. No skin off their nose.😥

You handled it well though.

Hello Robert, If you look at the order, it's for a 1/2".  That's what I sent you. That's what you received. But no problem. I will send you a 3/4"  free of charge. It should take a few days to get to you. HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Aloha, James

I think because if you look at the order, it clearly shows what he bought.

He received exactly what he bought.

Kinda hard to blame me.

But he can blame ebay saying he clicked on 3/4" but somehow ebay switched it to a 1/2".

OBVIOUSLY A ebay "goof" during the checkout process. LOL   😉
