Thank you! Today was my turn to be dumped into new listing form.

Many, many thanks to everyone who has posted on this board during the last year about the horrors peculiarities of the new listing form!

Without all those comments and sad stories from other laptop users, I might have never been able to list an auction this afternoon.

Having read about all the pop-ups and the strange placements of information I needed, I was able to list in only 3 times the time it would have taken me with the old form.

Again, I am most grateful to you all!

its obvious this new system was designed for the mass listers on Ebay and the long time vintage sellers be damned. they nailed me today also.

You're lucky, they have improved it a lot since they first released it.

Have a great day.

They must have because it wasn't quite as horrible as I was expecting.

Today was the very first time I had ever seen the new listing form.  I'm a believer in the old army saying "Never be first.  Never be last.  Never volunteer."

I got it today too, but so far I like it, much easier, and I am not joking, I might see all the terrible things you guys talk about, but I am good with it so far.

From what I've heard, it was designed for the mobile app.  Rather than keep/create a decent laptop/desktop listing tool, eBay just shoved this mobile version onto all devices.

Re: Thank you! Today was my turn to be dumped into new listing form.

I got the new form today today ... that's why I am here, I just started selling again a couple days ago after a few year's absence.

I only listed eight items but it worked just as I remembered it had. I log back in today to list another item and there is this bizarro world form with none of the drop down choices I need and only a fraction of the options.

I thought it was because I listed exercise equipment, an unusual category for me -- that maybe it had special rules.

Not going to fret over it. It seems so obviously bad I expect the new system will be rolled back soon enough, when they realize fewer items are being listed.

Honestly, I really think big business should only hire coders and web designers who regularly use their products and services (or at least bounce all changes off real focus groups).

Walmart made a coding change recently where if you lived near enough to use local pickup and / or paid local delivery via their grocery department, the shipping option completely disappeared. They gave everyone who called to complain a $10 credit (and manually fixed each complainer's account to permit a shipping option) but you have to wonder how much business they lose with their experiments.

I feel really sorry for tech-phobic older folks who simply can't make this stuff work. I have a relative in her 90s and when she encounters these glitches she closes her Mac Book and gives up.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw it. It also feels like it was heavily inspired by another market place that is a little more...uh..."Posh."

I don't particularly care for it. The only feature I like is the picture import from mobile. Saves me a step, I suppose.

Re: Thank you! Today was my turn to be dumped into new listing form.

I just came back after a summer break and of course it was the new format.  I was using sell similar but the number of fill in information was crazy.  Is there any video going over how to list with the new format?  I know we can't go back , but I'm not a bulk lister.  Each listing is different.  If there was a training video for the new format, that would be great.

When they first released it, everything was done in little pop up widows.

You spent more time opening and closing those stupid things then anything else.

Have a great day.

I would not want to place a bet on that.

We have been told that all/every last seller will be forced onto the new form and the old one deleted.

Sellers have been complaining loudly on this board for at least a year about this new listing form, and we keep being told it is a permanent change and, in so many words,  that by [insert deity-of-your-choice], we'd better get used to it.

As a semi-mass lister I hate this, too glitchy and too slow. 😞

Re: Thank you! Today was my turn to be dumped into new listing form.

I have been switching back and forth between the old and the new. A lot of the time starting with the old, saving as a draft and then finishing with the new tool just to see what else might be had/offered with the new.

Sometimes starting and finishing with the new tool. The new one is usable, imo.  Just different.

Using a desktop.  All the time.

Re: Thank you! Today was my turn to be dumped into new listing form.

Yup, I got moved over too. This is extremely CLUNKY and not desktop friendly. The required and non required item specifics no longer are separated. It's all one long list.  No more suggestions for the IS's until you've about typed it all in.

I hope in time, listing goes faster. But if not, it's definitely going to take more time to list. Not happy, and definitely going to be tracking time. If the speed can't be moved faster, I'm just not willing to spend double the time listing, especially since sales have tapered off. We'll see after 4th quarter.

I just got stuck with it myself today.  Although I did not have any difficulty, it does take a bit more time.  Just another way eBay is making the site look cheap.  Going back to all of the basics so they can save on monthly internet bills.  If they were a video game manufacturer, they would be bringing back Atari.  LOL
