Had my taxes done, Everything went well, no problem with the 1099K from ebay, even getting a decent refund.

I just got my refund in the bank last week, Fed paid for my accountant and got all my state back I paid in. 4% sales increase from prior year but didn't pay any income tax, the only tax I paid was FICA, didn't earn enough for self employment tax.

I can think of ONE MORE plus to being Canadian. 😉
Uh, is it that you'll weigh less in Canada?

And by "refund" you mean you were able to recover some stolen property?

I haven't had a refund since I started reporting my ebay sales.
You're doing it right, then. No refund is "good" - letting the govt hold onto YOUR money in some kind of no-interest "savings" account is poor money management - anyone can do better investing their own money, and then just paying a bit on their taxes when they are due.

Good for you! Time to treat yourself!

Speaking of reporting income...
Maybe this is a good time to purchase some stock in Dr. Scholl's??
I ask because I am wondering if we will soon be seeing an uptick in pedicure and foot-care related sales here on eBay and more generally, what with the recent news from Housing and Urban Development.
PS: I am being quite serious.
PPS: I meant to thank you for your incisive commentary on the anagram post.

Let's hope all of the eBay sellers filing for the first time realize that it isn't that hard and doesn't have to be a bad experience.
Let's also hope that they don't buy the fantasy that the IRS will be abolished, and paying up doesn't matter. The IRS doesn't forgive or forget.

Abolition of the IRS... another bizarre notion that feeds the primitive imaginations of millions yet which, in the final analysis, merely works against their own interests. (I'm sure you understand the logic there.)
I'm telling you, I am seriously wondering about the future of our great nation.

Mods these last 3 posts are baiting into political speech onto the selling forums again. It's really close to becoming a political discussion in here if anyone debates the 3 prior posts to this. please get this thread back on track for us because they are sliding this into a leftist agenda thread again. You mods definitely don't want people to debate where we want our tax dollars spent because it will 100% become political. Please enforce the rules fairly thank you mods.
