Okay, after almost two years of selling and on my way out, I just learned how the ebay shipping labels system works, which is different than it was when I started selling. SO, in case there are other skeptical sellers, like me, out there, hesitant to use the ebay shipping labels, if I was staying I would be using their labels. Turns out, in order to take advantage of eBay’s negotiated USPS shipping discounts, we have to use eBay’s shipping labels. Here’s screen shot of the current ebay policy confirming their USPS-negotiated discounts. Other sellers posted today that the discounts help them offset the ebay and paypal commissions & fees, which makes sense. So, for those who are hesitant, again, like I was, to use eBay’s labels, I hope this helps! The labels shipping system discounts help make up for the fees!

Ebay's "negotiated shipping discounts" are the same as any commercial postage provider such as stamps.com, Endicia, etc. It's just the commercial base price. TRS sellers do get an additional 3% discount on Priority and international labels, plus $100 of insurance on Priority instead of the base $50.
I don't normally use Ebay labels, I use stamps.com. I use calculated shipping with a 25 cent handling fee and have my listings set to charge the retail postage rate. The difference covers fees, handling, etc.

The OP and I were discussing this on another thread. Good luck as it doesn't appear either of us were able to get our points across.

I just looked up stamps.com! Omg, says up to 40% discounts! But it costs $17 ish / month. I’m assuming your savings more than cover the $17? I am going to look at this for my site!
Check out PirateShip
There is NO fee to join or use and you get the same discounts everyone else offers.

Actually, I understood him/her perfectly. Maybe it was the difference in tone.
Could be a little since I've repeated myself several times. Maybe that makes a difference.

DSR--detailed seller rating (stars on your feedback page)
USPS FCP --United States Postal Service First Class Postage
USPS PM mail--- United State Postal Service Priority Mail
SNAD-- significantly not as described (return choice)
TRS --- Top Rated Seller
As many have explained--printing your postage online saves money over buying it at the post office. Using ebay's labels are cheaper, since they are online, and handy since they automatically upload and inform your buyer of your tracking number. That's why I said it didn't make sense when you said you didn't trust them and I never read why.

@krys888 when you open a shipstation.com account you also get a free stamps.com account through shipstation and enjoy the same stamps.com discounted postal rate. Shipstation offers one month free trial and $9/month afterwards.

You also use a lot more acronyms that I don’t know. DSRs, FCP, PM Mail (I see SNAD and something else on this forum a lot too and still no clue what those are either. @southern*sweet*tea only used one, TSR sellers, which I don’t know, but it wasn’t in the primary information part that I did understand. My store is/was very simple so I probably just never ran into any of these to take time to look them up. I’m sure if I had, I’d recognize their corresponding acronym.)
I did explain FCP at least in my original post on the subject. The others, I did assume you would know them as you have been a seller for awhile. So that is my bad for assuming that. Fern did a nice post explaining them.
