My issue is similar but not as complex as yours. Let me explain-I have been on eBay as a seller in good standing for 20 years. Last night had NEW experience. I listed an item, and it showed the item # assigned, & said "your item is now for sale". Confirmed. Fine. A few minutes later I decided to add something to my listing on a "revise listing". ITEM COMPLETELY GONE-not in my seller list, not by item #, not in "search". NOWHERE. I thought, it must be me-I am tired, from listing all day. This am, went to find it, confident it would be there. Wrong. Not there at all. NOWHERE. Not in search, not in my seller page, zip. I happened to put the search terms next on Bing. com. And LO AND BEHOLD, there was my listing BUT IT HAD A WORD "MENS" ADDED TO MY TAG LINE--I did not add THAT ON MY LISTING. i CLICKED on the listing, which indicated it was for sale at eBay--came up with A ZERO. Tried the listing number, a ZERO again. ODD is not the word. I called eBay c.s.-nice man there investigated, found my listing, and said it would populate tonight after 9:l8 pm. OK, I realize eBay has the liberty to list whenever, but why was it in my data under items for sale on my listing page? ODD. He transferred me to upsdaled person-She was lovely, said she had never experienced similar confusion. She added one # to t he listing number (an end #) & we together went to Bing, & she saw what was happening. So if someone decided they wanted to know about the item I listed, the potential buyer would have thought it was an ended, sold, or deleted item. I would have been thought of to be a FLAKE. She apologized, said it was an IT problem, & she would pursue with IT dept. WHAT IN THE WORLD? Now it finally shows in my items listed, and assume it will populate to be be in sold mode tonight. However, WHAT IF I ADD the other 900 listings I am working on, and randomly all the work of listing descriptions and prices DISAPPEARS again? Now I came here to see if anyone else was having this issue, and here is your long, more convoluted story than mine. Do I chalk this up to "expect glitches to happen on computers"? Making me very edgy, as I don't want to do all the work required to HAVE MY LISTINGS TOTALLY DISAPPEAR. Or to have my credibility as a seller (with l00% feedback for 20 yrs-no easy feat!) be questionable. PLEASE if you have any suggestions, they are welcome, as I am frustrated & perplexed. THANK YOU FOR reading this venting...I feel insecure now doing my listings & need some validation from someone as once c.s. is off the phone, to talk again, requires another call to them and repeating the entire story, when it is easier to describe it here. Worries me that a "bot" or person added the word "mens" to my listing description. The item is UNISEX, but not specifically indicated for me, so can a bot read my entire listing and make that decision or was it a person reading it? This opens a Pandora's box for me and it's so ODD, since it has never before happened in 20 years plus of listing on eBay. PLEASE REPLY with advice, if you have any. Thank you.
