Hey there folks - we're a long time ebay seller with a fairly good sized inventory. Getting to a point though where we're trying to find options to get better/more exposure (I know, welcome to the club, right?). But I'm talking about more exposure through a more pointed approach, so I want to see if anyone can answer some specific questions I have about the steps we want to take.
1) We'd really like to open at least one more new ebay ID / Store, has anybody had any experience with transfering large quantities of listings from one store to another? We have 8400+ listings in the store, probably splitting that close to half and half.
1a) I've heard nightmare stories abound with people dealing with Inkfrog, but I've heard this is one of the best ways to upload your listings to a CSV file and transfer them to a second user ID/Store. Has anybody here used Inkfrog to specifically accomplish this feat - transfering thousands of listings? I even heard a story from one person saying that like us they wanted to use Inkfrog to transfer thousands of listings, and that it screwed the listings up and they permanently lost a chunk of their inventory, which would be catastrophic for me.
Which leads to 1b) Is there ANY way to accomplish this task without needing some shoddy compay like Inkfrog to do it through? I don't actually care to use Inkfrog longterm, I intend to use it literally for this one time function and then once both stores have the listings in them, then we'll just list items directly on each ID selling page for each store actively on ebay.
2) This is a basic question and pretty simple - if I were to open a new ID and store, considering that we're pretty well established with over 20,000 feedbacks, is there any way possible to have an ebay rep on the phone switch/trade/swap feedbacks from one ID to another? This might actually be my biggest fear of opening a second store at all. I don't want to hang half my inventory exposed on a new fresh feedback count and have it wind up biting us hard. I suppose if worse comes to worse I could always try to re-swap the second store's items back to the first, if possible (I guess that's yet another question, sorry).
3) This is a really big one - outside of opening a second ebay store, man oh man I'd love to be able to duplicate our ebay store's inventory on Amazon. I've heard that Inkfrog as well as other websites enable you to transfer listings FROM Amazon to Ebay, but I haven't heard much about going vice versa. I already have an Amazon store that I pay for but have never used for 3 months (I know...), this was done with the intention of eventually figuring out how to transfer.
4) This is a more general series of questions seeking anybody with experience doing these types of things giving me hopefully a rough idea of what to expect:
4a) What success do you have splitting your inventory into two ebay stores? I would imagine since each user ID/store gets it's own visibility/sales, that logic would seem to suggest that if you have two separate ones that both your visibility and sales would have to increase at least somewhat, correct?
4b) What success do you have running the same, large quantity inventories on two major websites like ebay and amazon both at the same time? My guess is that this is where most of the money has to be, obviously if you are making "X" profit off of what you spend to do business with ebay "Y", that if you literally have the same exact listings and spend "Y2" with amazon that generally that means you profit "X2" off of amazon? So you'd be talking about literally adding your "X" profit to the new found "X2"? That might have been the most confusing way to put it in terms of variables, but hopefully you follow.
I know this is one monstrous message, and if you care enough that you made it this far, thank you so much. I'd truly appreciate any knowledgeable answers to what you have experienced. Even if you can't answer all my questions, if you know a lot about one of them I'd appreciate an answer.

You're not permitted to discuss listing on other sites here.
NEVER list the same widget in more than one place (including more than one store here) at one time unless you have enough multiples to be able to fill all orders.

@stl_vintage I think your item 2 is probably the one that is significant. New IDs, regardless of whether they are a store or not, will take a little while to get rolling. I've done that here. I switched some inventory from one ID to another ... you can be on the new ID and go to the Old ID's listings and do a Sell Similar to create the listing, you might need fresh pics but then do the Save and Continue until the item ends on the other ID ... then once its gone over there activate it on the new accounts.
One thing I did was make sure I transfered items that I knew would sell so the 2nd ID could get a good start.
What I just described is a little time comsuming but if you targeted say 100 listings a week to start shifting (that's 20 per day on a 5 day week) from one ID to another. The time consumption may actually help work slowly in to the other ID as it builds up its sales.
No way to shift or share Feedback from one ID to another ... FB is specific to the ID so if you create a new ID the FB would NOT apply.

What you are trying to do is manage a large # of listing and integrate them across multiple platforms (that may be the tech term) . I know nothing about inkfrog........but I'm pretty sure 6 Bit can handle that, along with offering alot of other options. The costs go up, the more you try to do, but may be worth it.
Ebay has what they call file exchange (you can ask about it on the Tools Board), which is free, but is pretty complicated (to me). Involves reducing listings to CVS files and then changing them within a spread sheet......
There are other bigger options: Channel advisor and more ......but again the costs get higher, depending on how much you need. Google selling on multiple platforms or some such and you should come up with options......

I've heard good things about Six Bit. They offer multi-channel and multi-account listing management with aggregated shipping and inventory management tools.
It ain't free, though 😉 But if you are looking to do multi-channel ecommerce long term, then paying for a decent service should be in the business plan 🙂

I have read of users who open a second store and do not start with low listings because they link the two accounts. Not sure how you do that.
eBay will not allow you to split existing feedback between an old store and a new store.
I have used sixbit for multiple user ids (2). Before it is listed, moving an item from one ID to another is a one field change. Or two if they are using different paypal accounts. They have added amazon to their software capabilities. You really should take a look at it.

Hey there - thank you so much to you guys recommending sixbit, I just checked it out and that seems like EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
