Sudden drop in sales May 2022

Anyone saying the main reason of sales dropping is the (Economy), he don't know what talking about.

i have other store at etsy, comparing my sales in ebay with my sales in etsy in last 5 months, my sales at etsy much better than my sales at ebay, this is the first time since 2018.

Something happend to ebay on May, i don't know what's it, but the economy not included??!

Having been with eBay for over two decades – I have seen a lot of stupidity, this time, I am stumped?

Before May of this year 2022, we were doing excellent! We gross about 20 grand each quarter.

Okay – then views and watchers counter changes – and poof over night sales tank! All of a sudden

a billion Promoted Listings appear everywhere when I go to visit another sellers page? They blasted

these sellers listings so badly it was difficult to find the actual item description! Then no items appear

in search engines, no matter what browsers you use! Even with highly specific items of which no other seller has, nothing in any search! In April we sold a few thousand dollars worth of Japanese vintage

records! Last month we listed another 50 of these some pre WW-II era, and this time, not one
view, not one watcher, not one sale!!!! An Elvis 78rpm didn't sell! I always sell any Elvis 78rpm records! That has never -ever- happened! One thing, look at Amazon the interface has stayed the

same for years! Ever since old Mel left eBay, they have changed the look dozens and dozens of time.

Some changes were needed like photo uploads, BUT they should have stopped at one point! Kept the “Classic” look! My landing home page has more information that I will ever look at! Bots? Robots?

Who cares if robots look at our listings? Do you guys (eBay) really care about that? Worry about

your sellers first before you worry about robots?????? Care about us! Fix this before we all

join the homeless here in Los Angeles.

That's it! since ebay stopped counting bots views on May, everything changed to worse...

My sales continue to dive. There are nothing but zeros in my views column even after the items have been listed for a week.   @debbie6438  is right about sellers listings being buried by other sellers promoted items. Is the confusion supposed to help the buyers find what they are looking for?

This is beyond absurd!

There is no response or help from eBay staff.  devon@ebay elizabeth@ebay velvet@ebay  Don't even know if they're out there anymore.

Is anybody at eBay paying attention or listening at all? 40 pages of complaints from experienced sellers saying over and over and over that something is wrong.... something is broken....

Same here. Since May, when ebay did whatever it was that they did to wreck things, my sales and views on items have totally TANKED. Though I'm not a big mega seller, up until that point I was getting regular sales every month. Enough to help pay a few bills. Then, like somebody at ebay flipped a switch, everything cratered practically overnight. Since May, I've been lucky if I even get ONE sale a month! This is insanity! This same thing has happened to a friend of mine, as well. He has been selling on ebay since it first opened. His sales have dropped by 2/3 of what they used to be. Yes, SOME of this may be due to the economy, granted, things are pretty scary out there now because of what this administration has done, but that's not the entire story. No way. Ebay broke something that is killing us small mom and pop sellers, and affecting the larger sellers, as well.

And as for all the consistent zero views that now show on most of my items, well, I'm not buying it that it was mostly bots giving view numbers. That's **bleep**. Can a bot favor an item and put it in the watch list? I do not believe for one minute that a bot can do that. But ever since ebay broke things, the number of my items that were regularly in the watch list every month since I first started selling about 5-6 years ago, has gone from a steady and consistent 20-30 items, or more, to just a handful now. If I'm lucky.

PLEASE ebay... FIX THIS!!! Undo whatever it was that you did!

Great weekend here... zero sales.  For the first time ever my sales on Etsy are more than on eBay.... go figure.  I guess anything surpasses ZERO sales.

What a travesty.  Unbelievable.... ZERO SALES on a weekend!

Still looking at a column of zero views.... this is so bizarre!  My watch list hasn't changed in 4 days.  It's like everything is stuck is some weird time continuum.  On top of all the other weirdness I have a return request that is showing that the buyer has until "October 5th" to return the item.  The request was initiated on September 14th... WTH.  I don't have a problem with the return but I do have a problem with a 3 week window to return an item..... yet another glitch...glitch...glitch.

Give me a break.... Please fix this stupidity!!

I guess "eBay Open" is the priority right now....

Went from $300 per day to $20-$40 per day this week.  7500 listings, top rated plus, free returns, 99.7% feedback, promote at 10%, shipping next day.  I don’t know what to do anymore.

@aqeeqsouq sure, view will be 50x more but still no sales, cause doesn't fix the PL election rates issue - everyone is now baring close to 20-30% with PL election rates just to try and get some sales since sales just completely stopped for most a week straight now - THAT needs to be fixed - especially since all those increased percentages have resulted into zero sales also. Was willing to take a small hit to get things going and build some momentum back up again but now idk... what's the point - not here to lose money and be broke.

Something is massively broken here at eBay this past week and even worse is this weekend. Some of it has me thinking it might be some of the changes that are being made to some of the pages and do not forget that on 9/20 another set of category changes go into effect. I wonder if they started working on these category changes the past week. We had the same issue last September with the category changes and the item specifics mandate.

Our sales have been pretty much cut in half, especially from what we sold on 9/16 to today. We have a fairly sizable account and we use promotions + promoted listings, and have not seen it this bad in sales in quite sometime.

I have tried some really crazy stuff with PL the last few days on the rates and even doing that is not bringing in the customers. That tells me that there is definitely something that they have changed with the site yet again. As we all have mentioned for months, this mess all has started since mid-May when they kept making changes and then they did more in early July where they made it mandatory that you had to use no less than 2% on the PL or else your items were not being shown. While some of us have always paid for for PL than the base 1-2%, as we know with eBay they continue to have this all or nothing approach with the platform so it continues to do damage to everyone.

same, like said, I raise PL elections from 3% (most items) to 5% and nothing - and OK, i know full well there are people electing double what I am - but I have huge issue with PLs and the action of electing higher rates - that just leads ebay to believe that anyone will raise rates 10% + just to make sales so they keep those suggested rates inflating due to it. No one, (I MEAN NO ONE) should be giving ebay more then 5% maximum and ebay shouldn't be looking for more then that maximum - especially in times all these market places are talking about keeping inflated prices down - well - all this just adding to those inflations. In the end, none of this is good scenario for ebay, it's sellers, or it's buyers - long run result is we all loose - and we already have - it's trickling down the pipe as we speak.

If you think about it, Ebay stock price over the last year went from 72.87 a share down to 42.00 as of today. Their going over to their cash cows and saying: you will pay this or your store will fall into the black hole. Thats my opinion looking from the outside in from a Business point of view. In other words: The seller has no choice if they want to make a living on Ebay and Ebay knows it.
