Please, report here if you recently within a week or so experienced sudden drop in sales. We can then ask Velvet to pass it on to technical team for review of the accounts. https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Updates-are-happening-to-some-item-specifics-and-category/m-p/...

In addition , the data on the chart is not updating. It shows wrong amounts for the past 31 days. I had freeze like that to my account about november-december (after october 2021 update). Nothing was working on my account .
it seems like it is in offline mode.
i guess they not updating money in for the past 31 days and 90 days not to get me into panic attack. Number is the same for days.

This is a good thread to start, but does Velvet really think that eBay is going to review hundreds of individual accounts to see if their low sales might have anything to do with eBay's constant category and IS changes? I don't see them taking 5 minutes to do this. It's easier to just blame it on the economy in this case. eBay has NEVER responded to complaints about low sales.

I start thinking that ebay did it purposefully to 1. Get people to advertise more 2. To manipulate service metrics categories ( ratio sales to returns in comparison to others). Maybe I am wrong. There are still sales it’s just not ours but bigger sellers. And those bigger sellers have to have income— ebay can’t risk loosing them. So if there are less buyers Lets push all buyers to out best sellers. I hope they can take a look at what they did to affect all those accounts. Tomorrow is service metrics evaluation day and lets see how it goes.

Since that just started on May 18; anything to do with sales prior to that date would have nothing to do with that, correct?
Also- mbparts; you have 1-2 sale average per day. You don't have enough sales per day to determine much of anything; especially since you sell 1 of used items and it's always hit/miss if someone "needs" that part and then actually wants to "buy" that part, right now- or, if they are willing to buy 'used' in the first place (if there's a choice)
If someone had 10 sales a day selling the exact same item for 2 months, and then drops to 3 a day; even then... you might have to think "maybe I've sold to all that are interested?".

I have had hardly any views/sales in months and months. So yeah, please add me to the list...

I've been selling on ebay for 22 years.
As you can imagine i've had my ups and downs.
I've had my dry spells.
Not once have I ever even THOUGHT to blame ebay for slow sales.
If my sales are slow, that means nobody want's to buy what I am selling.
Why do so many sellers have such a hard time accepting that?
It's not always someone's fault that your sales are slow.
I guess i'm just weird.

FYI: Sellers have been coming here to report "sudden slow sales" every day since these boards have been running.
And whatever happens to be going on at the moment (paypal, GTC, updates, item specifics, managed payments, search engine, views) is always to blame.

Hmm: what you say is the normal< some items will not get looked at or purchased:
I research my item prior to listing: what has sold at what prices where it was listed etc...
This single thing aids in sales. One can see demands involved in the system by such as well.
Yet when they first started this item specifics rollout the AI aid crap to your search that has nothing to do with your search and so on..., and such as it is today: items are just not getting looks or hits per say: some item this is even faster to see by the offers one gets or does not: dont mater it you dont use the make offer folks will contact you to try...
This things telll me that the mess is in ebay: not the sellers.
Not hard to see, not hard to figuer out.
I have talked to folks that use to purchase off of eBay: they have stopped even trying to find it here.
This part is the true scary part of this mess. They just went were they can find what they want.
Ebay is losing their purchaser base:
Part of this was how much say a seller buyer will now use eBay with the funds coming from some diferent sorce instead of PP. With MP I sure do not purchase much: would help if I could find stuf I woould like to purchase with out the crap as well.
I tell folks to search using google, it for sure seems to work better for eBay items than the crazy search on eBay. Think about that..... use some other search to find items on ebay is better and easier to use than the eBay's search?????
Some thing is wrong: and it is not all these sellers.
It was that some i

as much as YOU love to challenge everything I say for obvious reason protecting Ebay interest and are trying to get on everything I say you are very incorrect. CHECK SCREENSHOT FOR 2 SALES A DAY AND STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION. WHEN I AM THAT BUSY i don’t sit on those boards. You may look up what I have been saying and what I sold since may 12. I made it easy for you and included screenshot from statistics. Oh wait maybe you will start saying that statistics are not correct. I guess you just here to aid big bay in covering negative voices.

I am in car parts category and my sales were good till may 12. Ok and this after all the effort i put to get sales markdowns, coupons offers, listings new campaigns etc etc with amount of effort put i would get a sale even of the cheap item.

Ok if it makes you feel any better, I will sit this one out.
I will not participate in "your thread".
Just do me one favor.
When the "technical team" comes back with your report on why sales are slow,
please share it with me.
Have a great day.

You post on a public forum and you will get feedback. Just because it's not positive or doesn't back your thought process, does not make it wrong to post.
But mostly, I am just trying to give you another view. I've been selling here since 2011- all in the Auto Parts & Accessories area. Lots of competition for views, but not lots for what I make/sell.
Here's some information that you may find valuable.
I have about 400 listings. Nothing added or changed since 2016, except I added about 8 new items (since 2020. In 2021 I added shipping costs (used to be free). 2 weeks ago, raised prices for 3rd time and now free shipping (was $59 w/ $7 shipping, is now $69 Free Ship; so an actual increase of 4%)
Number of Sales
2022 2021 2020 2019
Jan 145 117 70 90
Feb 183 125 74 70
Mar 149 160 131 130
Apr 145 196 105 140
May 146(trend) 146 105 80
Jun 165 101 78
Jul 97 83 68
Aug 152 65 95
Sep 141 98 124
Oct 158 47 98
Nov 86 28 74
Dec 117 74 55
What I learned from all this is sometimes the weather effects my sales, certain holidays, etc, but overall, I don't know the real reason.
Last year almost doubled the previous 2 years.
Car shows are down in Cali (was 9 local, now 2); but how are they in other states?
Price of cars has gone through roof (classics) but now more car shows?
Less than 5% of my sales are in the 8 western states (where I live); 80% are east of the Miss. River
But, the common denominator is that it, for the most part, has nothing to do with eBay.
