Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

I'm really struggling with the new format for leaving feedback. They have removed several different vital pieces of information that makes it very difficult and time consuming.

First, they no longer have the buyer's name listed so I cannot search on that. While I can search on the item sold, if they have bought multiple items then I have to do multiple searches. This also means I have to load all the feedback which can take quite a few clicks to get it done.

Second, the delivery date of the item is gone so I no longer know when the item was delivered and if 30 days have passed. For those buyers who don't leave me feedback (about 95%) I leave them feedback after the 30 day return window. Now I have no way of knowing when that window closed.

Third, they no longer make the title of the sale clickable so that I can pull up the transaction and find out the delivery date of the item. So I will have to manually look up each item in another tab to get the information I need so I know when to leave feedback.

Fourth, it no longer remembers feedback I've left before so that I can start the sentence and have it autofill. I've had to create a Word file of the different feedback I use so then I can cut and paste them. This is far too time consuming. I don't want to use automated feedback because it won't allow me to wait 30 days past the delivery date.

They've made this process so cumbersome that I think I'm just going to stop leaving feedback for my buyers unless they leave me feedback. I don't have time to go through all the extra steps it takes and that is really unfortunate for my buyers, particularly the new ones who probably really need/want the feedback.

Funnily enough though, the information they left for EVERY single transaction is the name of the seller/store. Like I need to see that every single time because I don't know who I am!! This is a very poor design decision and I really hope they rectify it.

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

I AM a really small seller as you put it. I'm also a consistent seller who has relationships with some of my buyers. I don't always want my feedback to say the same thing. I'm also retired which means I have the time to do this. I enjoy leaving feedback especially for those who are new to eBay. I also invite new buyers to ask me questions if they are confused about how eBay works. We all use it differently and it is unfortunate that eBay has made it harder for some of us.  Automated feedback just doesn't work for me. To each their own, eh? 🙂

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

I'll be honest, it's impressively bad.  It displays the auction title (not a link), the seller's name (not a link), and the "Images, Videos, and Text Policy" (the only link) for adding photos to feedback:

"We'll start displaying item photos with your feedback soon. Make sure you follow our Images, Videos, and Text Policy."

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

I did think it was funny that they don't provide the buyer's name but provide my name for every single transaction. How on earth did they think that was going to be useful? I've seen discussion of this issue in several places now so hopefully eBay is paying attention.

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

It seems like every time ebay makes changes they remove the features that are most useful the me. I use to the scroll down the feedback list looking for the line that says the item was delivered on date, because I did not want to leave back for transactions that were not completed. Now I have to figure out If they actually paid for the item. Personally I think ebay should make it so seller can not leave feedback for buyers If a person is only buying they will always have 100% feedback. I have heard of scammers building high feedback accounts by buying a lot on low price items and requesting feedback. Then using those accounts for fraud.

If you had the "comment button", here is where it would lead:

They have now at least put back the buyer's name which helps. I'm really hoping they will put the delivery date back as well.

I agree with you 100% this new setup sucks, I won't be leaving feedback anymore unless they change it back.

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

They removed the Statement, the item was delivered on with date. When I see that statement I know the item was paid for and I shipped it. Now I can't even click on an item link to see the order details. Also on the old form when I clicked on the space to write my comment it would list some oy my previous comments to chose from

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

It is terrible!  As you stated, all the pertinent information is gone.  I would go in after 30 days and leave feedback for purchases that were not already done by the auto system.  I had mine set to leave a feedback once the buyer left theirs.  The problem is that I would go through each feedback and check for things like: did they return the item, was the item ever delivered, etc.  With the new system, it would take too much additional time to find out what used to be right in front of me, so I will not bother.  I tried to find a way on that page to comment on the new system, but there are no links and no question marks.  I followed one of the links above to leave a comment, but the form was specific to photos.  Once again, eBay makes a terrible change without consulting any of its customers.

Once you answer two questions you can leave a comment about whatever you want say to related to feedback.

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

I'm glad they at least put back the buyer's name, but it still requires me to have two pages open in order to figure out all the stuff you just mentioned. I'm fortunate to be a small business so I'm stumbling through it right now, but I don't know how long my patience will last. lol I wonder if this is an attempt to force us into automatic feedback. That's not going to work as far I am concerned. It took me forever to find a link that allowed me to comment on the changes. Unfortunately I don't remember how I found it now. 😞 I think they are quite aware of the situation though. Either they will fix it or a lot of us will stop leaving feedback.

Re: Struggling With New "Leave Feedback" Form

Since being forced into this new feedback form obviously created by a non seller who codes for eBay I cannot see if the item was delivered, if the sale was cancelled, paid for then refunded, shipped even the pre-made comments I always used are not longer populating when I start to leave a feedback.
So in the interest of saving time and alleviating frustration, I no longer leave feedback.

This new system saves me 15 minutes a day which I now use to list items for sale. Since eBay has no way to opt out of their bad ideas or to revert this new form back, I'm out of the feedback leaving business.
