Store subscriptions

There should be a store subscription in between Premium and Anchor. Now it goes from 60.00 -1000 items right to 300.00 for 10,000 items that is just too big of a jump. You could make a flat charge for each additional  1000 untill you get to 10,000 but right now I will not add anything else over 1000. This way we all could make more money!

Re: Store subscriptions

I have had a store for over 15 years now and have never seen or read about a store offering 2500 listings. Where did you ever see that? I have constantly suggested such a category. As a result I had to open 2 stores which makes more money for Ebay in store fees. Guess that's the intent anyway.

There is a "flat charge" for an extra 1000 listings! If you currently have a premium Store an extra 1000 listings cost you $150

I agree with this.    500 listings are not enough for me.

10,000 are far too many.

Offer me 1,000 listings for $80.00 and I'd up grade today.

You mean, like the premium store offers?

agreed a 5000 item makes sense for sellers but ebay gets to keep the extra money from those sellers that do 1000+- 5000 items and pay the 10000 pricing

i agree with you. so when you get to 1000 with the premium store how do you advance to 10000 with the anchor store without paying a per listing charge in between. i guess what i am asking is how does someone go from 1000 to 10000?

While I do agree there should be a level in between (and I've suggested it to eBay several times), stores are not really meant for you to make the jump without paying insertion fees. The idea is to gradually built up your listings until it's feasible to upgrade the store, based on what you pay in overall listing fees compared to the next level up store subscription level. However, the gap between Premium and Anchor is stil pretty substantial.

At around 3700-3800 listings, you would be paying the same in fees (listinga and store sub) as you are for an anchor store subscription fee. So you really only need to get to that amount, not 10K. I have posted the "time to upgrade store level" breakdown many times.

Right now, it's better to have two accounts with Premium stores (like I do) than an Anchor store. Even if I combine my two accounts, I have near 2000 listings which is still much cheaper than an Anchor store. But if they had a store with roughly 5K listing, it would probably be better for me to upgrade to that.

eBay is really short-sighted when it comes to making money in this way. They would have a lot more people subscribing to that store level than they realize. I know I would.

Re: Store subscriptions

RyanRobyn: I had the 2,500-level store for some years. It worked very well for me. I've suggested to ebay that it be revived, to no avail. Sorry you missed it -- it was great!

Yes, that was the previous anchor store level before they upped it to 10K

Yeah,   LIke I already have, and suffered a severe brain cramp when I typed that.

I meant to say,    Give me fixed price 2,000 at $80.00 and I'd up grade today.

Re: Store subscriptions

Every time for the last almost 3 years, when Ebay gives me a survey and asks how it can improve, I ALWAYS ask the simple question: Why isn't there a store level for 3000-5000 listings? If there was I'd switch.

I used to have 3,000 listings until the new pricing went into effect. Now I'm at 1,000 and it's clearly not enough. I'm now approaching 20 years selling here and I list less than ever of those 20 years.

They have never even hinted at changing the structure. It's the most no-brainer decision I can think of on this site.

For some crazy reason, they refuse to do it. Frankly, I've given up.

Re: Store subscriptions

I've made the jump from 1,000 to 8,000+ listings. It's not impossible to do, but it does require a lot of planning and preparation in advance. First off, you need to have your selling limits high enough for an anchor store. As a matter of fact, I've done it twice.

If your wondering how I did it. I had my stuff prepared for the big jump. Pictures were taken months in advance until it reached 6,000-10,000. Then Ebay just so happens to send me a promotion for an anchor store were I only pay $150 for the first 3 months. I took the offer and started listing as much as possible, almost everyday, getting 1200 new listings every month. I'm up to 4600 listings after the 3 months are up. I take vacation time from work during the 4th month so I can list on Ebay. I get about 1000 new listings each week during the 4th month to bring me to over 8000 listings.

My plan was slightly different for the 2nd anchor store. Again, pictures were taken of all 6-10k items I was going to list in advance before the big jump. Received an ebay promotion for a free anchor store for 3 months. I signed up for the monthly plan. It won't work if you already have a yearly plan. Get my new listings up to 3,000 to 4,000 within those 3 months. Downgrade to premium for 4th month, and don't relist anything this month. Doesn't matter if I sign up for monthly or yearly at this point. Everything I list in the premium store are new items I haven't listed yet, so 1500 new listings that includes the 500 auctions. During the middle or near the end of the 5th month, with an additional 1500 new listings already up in beginning of the month. Upgrade back to anchor, relist everything that didn't sell the previous 60 days which brings me up to 6,000-7,000 listings.

What makes this possible for me to keep my listings up after selling some of them is I have a large quantity of almost everything.

Re: Store subscriptions

I know all of the unsold items are saved for 90 days, but for some reason, the pictures ended up disappearing or deleted by ebay at some point around the 70-90 day mark.

Re: Store subscriptions

It would more likely be something like 5000 (FP) / 750 (Auc) at $199.99 (monthly) / $169.99 (annual) with each additional at 7c (FP) / 12c (Auc).

Not that I've ever thought about it or anything...

Re: Store subscriptions

You don't have to make the jump straight from 1K to 10K (or 8K in your situation). The break even point cost wise is around 3750 items (give or take, I have all the stats on a spreadsheet). It's at that point, you are paying the same in Prem Store Cost + Listing Fees as an anchor store subscription.
