Yes I do have to make the straight up jump if you want to maximize the money involved. It's ten cents per listing for anything over 1000 FP for premium, so 3500 listings is the break even point on when it'll cost you the same as an anchor store of $300. Your paying for 10k listings, so you should be maximizing that as much as possible and as quickly as possible. You lose out on a lot of money, cause 10 cents a listing for anything above 1000 is a lot. It comes down to 3 cents per listing if you can get to 10K or 2.7 cents for 11K if you include the auctions. It doesn't make any business sense to only have 4K listings when you've paid for 10K listings. Your looking at about 6-9 months before you can maximize the 10K listings for an anchor store if you start at 3500. That's a lot of money that you could be making instead of not making.
