Store offer received: Upgrade and Keep Your Current Rate for One Month

So, this offer is to upgrade my eBay store for one month to the next tier (for me, Basic to Premium) and pay the same rate of $24.95.  Of course, after the month, the rate would be the posted Premium fee.

Would I be able to upgrade now using the promo, and then downgrade before the end of the month so as to make use of the extra free listings but not have to pay the higher fee next month? I read the fine print, and it appears this is possible.

Thoughts appreciated from the wise community members?

Thanks in advance!

If you are month to month payment plan, then this promo is for you.  If you have a yearly subscription, it will force you to upgrade for the whole year and you only get the discount price for the first month.

So if you do use the promo, it's up to you, then, to take your store back down a level after you use up your upgraded listings.

So wish we were on month to month.  Having an anchor store would be awesome right now!

I don't see a problem in doing what you propose. Just know since you'd be upgrading mid month, they may charge you in advance for the following 30 days on the November invoice, you should receive a credit when you downgrade. Be absolutely sure you make note of the last date of the term. If you don't cancel by that date, they will charge the full rate, there is no prorating of months when it comes to these specials. They count on people forgetting.

Why mess with something you have no intention of using into the future?

Yep....I've stayed on the month-to-month, just because I don't want to have to commit to a full year.  With the Basic store, it is only $5/month more and it is worth it for piece of mind.

So, yes, I decided to take eBay up on the offer and upgraded for the same rate. The extra 750 fixed price listings for this time of year will be helpful as have not seen any free listing promo in months and months.  Will see if the extra listings bring in any more sales to warrent keeping the higher rate store .... if not, will downgrade back to basic before the end of the month.

It also reads that if you have the yearly subscription, you can keep the upgrade for a year at the same rate.  Sounds good...too good...looking for the catch in the fine print.

i doubt it would be for a year, but when you find out, lmk  it would be a bargain and these days ebay has few to none in the bargains for sellers department.

How do you know when your times up to cancel? Looked at my account and can not find it anywhere? My payment is made on the 25th but does that mean my cycle is the 15th thru the 15th? If so I would only get 7 days of this promo?  Maybe I am blonde or they try to confuse........lol

Invited sellers who activate the offer and then upgrade their eBay Store Subscription will be upgraded to the next level tier but pay the same rate as the original tier for the first month from the start date of the upgrade.

WHAT I GET FROM THIS IS I START A WHOLE NEW MONTH FROM UPGRADE?     I UPGRADE TODAY THEN MY NEW CYCLE IS THE 8TH THRU THE 8TH......ANYONE AGREE?

That's correct. if you upgrade today, you have until 30 days after today to decide if you want to keep the upgrade or not.  And the price says clearly in the title of the promo FOR ONE MONTH.

C'mon... it's eBay! You just know there's a 'GOTCHA!!!'...

Chaos is NOT an "industry standard".

Yes, it did say I had until December 6th for the promotional period.  HOWEVER, since my billing is month to month on the 1st of the month, to be safe I will downgrade a day or so before the end of November just to be sure.

@catzrule7  I also took the offer, and was surprised to get the $50 free supplies coupon code. Already used it!  FYI, I remember reading here about a similar offer a few months ago, and the promo credit didn't appear until an invoice or two later. I'm budgeting as if I'll have to cover the extra fee & wait to get it back.

Thanks @dcintennessee! I never even thought to check for the coupon.  Now I have to decide what to get.

My sales have picked up since I upgraded, but if that is from the extra listings being available or eBay "showing" my listings, not sure.  It is tempting to keep the upgraded store through the end of the holiday season....but not sure yet if I will.

Thanks again for the head's up!
