Store Categories - Can't Add / Delete / Move

Been trying to move some categories around in my store since last night.  Keep getting this message:  You cannot delete categories until we've completed your previous request.

I had this come up a couple of months ago and tried a different browser.  That worked.  This time, however, I've tried Edge, Chrome & Firefox without success.

Anyone from eBay here that can tell me when this issue will be resolved?  Going on 13 hours now.

Hi, I would post this on their Tech Board since the Mods here will probably move this post there anyway. But posting to this seller board helps me see, like you, if anyone having same problem...I use Chrome and a 3rd party, not ebay, to list on ebay. Good luck.

I contacted EBAY regarding this they said it would be corrected in 24 hours; still doesn't work. It is very annoying not being able to add. Would like to get this done so I can add listings to the categories I need to add.

Before you can delete a category you have to move EVERYTHING out of that category into some other category. Unfortunately, that does happen at the speed of light. It takes eBay a while to do that. AND until they have finished moving everything out you can not delete the category because eBay still thinks there are things in it (you know - the stuff they haven;t moved yet).

That is why you get the comment: 

You cannot delete categories until we've completed your previous request.

The "previous request" being to move everything out of the category.

I went through this some time ago when I did a major restructure of my categories. It can be frustrating that it takes that long but it is not really a "glitch" just a tired hamster.

Richard1rst is correct- it's similar to how new listings may not index for up to 24 hours- or how putting listings on or off sale can take several hours. The system needs time to process your first request on a listing/category before it can perform another change on the same listing/category. It's slow- plan your changes strategically.

I am having the same issue and in addition, I have over 100 listings up but about 20 are in my store.   I don't know why my listings are not going into my store.  I'm kind of irked to be paying for something that won't edit properly and won't show everything I'm selling.

I'm going on 30 hours.  Last time it lasted 3-4 days.  eBay tells me "wait a few days and if it's not resolved chat with us again"

Untrue, the categories I am trying to delete have had zero listings for over 24 hours.  eBay just tells you that so they don't have to fix anything. I used to have about 7-12 sales a day.  I'm down to one in ten days, and that sold below cost once free shipping was included.  I had to put my store on vacation hold yesterday because I can't fix anything.  Before I did, I noticed that items that were being promoted at 10-15% were showing up on page 4 or 5, and that wasn't even the sponsored item.  My seller dashboard shows I have zero promoted listings.

Did this ever get corrected? I tried to create several new categories and it still hasn't updated after 3 days. Not cool.
