I would like to see a tip feature added to the checkout screen. It's everywhere else in our lives and needs to be on Ebay to offer buyers a more consistent shopping experience.

Bad idea... Although I could do creative messaging!
"Dear Human, I appreciate the purchase of the PC Software and hope you are delighted by it. As you might imagine PC Software is not something in very high demand these days and its a struggle to make ends meet. I have cockroaches in the cabinetry who rely on me to feed them and Cats who rely on the cockroaches for meals. Might you see you're way to gifting us a small token of you're gratitude via a tip... We'd appreciate it ever so much!"

I have a hard time tipping my Uber Eats or Door Dash drivers online when I place my order BEFORE I get my food.
I'll tip them in cash if/when I get my food arrives on time.

Gotcha!
This is the OPs second post about a tip feature.

Surely you don't mean a "tip" like what diners leave for their servers at restaurants?
Why?
And how would such a feature lead to a "more consistent shopping experience"?

Because it is popping up all over the place?
I took cans for recycling deposit. They had a tip cup there 😁

Uh, excuse me, but, other than tipping the server in the restaurant, I have NEVER felt that I had to pay more than asked. Does that mean I am in the minority?

Increasingly, yes, it seems to be the case. I see people tip generously for the most mundane things as if on reflex. I tip waitstaff and such because I know a portion of their pay stems from tips and reliance on appreciation for hard work. But too many people feel they have to pay a gratuity to those who are already paid for their time. Or, did nothing more than place a cookie in a bag.

Thank you for making me laugh! I enjoyed the silly idea. And while you're at it, start tipping the Walmart cashier, the grocery store cashier, the Home Depot cashier, your utility company when you pay your bill, your phone company, your insurance company etc.

You want a tip? Here's one. Yellow snow is not lemon flavored.
Happy holidays!

I used to tip everyplace, now we tend do takeout. They want $30 for a Pizza and there's a tip jar there. Restaurants have on the bill if I want leave gratuity as portion of the bill. Now my lady, way back when she was a waitress and did runway modeling. She was a "Kerry Girl" and even did some dancing with The Beach Boys.
I don't leave a tip oh I get it! "You have to that's how they survive!"
"But... But... But... wage is $15 an hour now even at Burger Queen."
"Doesn't matter! You leave a tip!"
Only tip I ever got was some guy telling me, "Your rear tire is near flat" so I turned to her and said, "He's talkin' about you." LOL!!!

I’m surprised no one yet has mentioned businesses that AUTOMATICALLY assign gratuities to the bill. When I get those, the manager and I have an “automatic” discussion….

Ebay should be tiping the buyer, as a gesture of appreciation for shopping on ebay

In many establishments the tips are allocated to various employees other than just the cashier or server.
Would the Ebay tips be allocated to the seller or pieces to programmers, marketeers, support reps and the CEO?

Tip "shaming" is becoming a national phenomenon. Have seen stories on the national news and in newspapers. We all know there are jobs where there are employees that rely on tips to get by...............BUT.
Recently had a nice dinner, with my wife, and the bill came in just under $50. No exceptional service provided. I added a $10 tip thinking 20% was reasonable. When the waitress picked it up, she said "Just $10?" I was so taken aback that I couldn't even respond.
I, personally, hope this type of attempted extortion backfires on the beggars.
