I feel like we as Ebay sellers do alot more after the sale than simply hand a bag of takeout food to a customer after spinning around an IPad Screen and letting them know, "It's just gonna ask you a couple questions".
Disappointed that Ebay has not added a tip option during checkout. The food delivery services all let customers tip before purchasing.

Absolutely not, tipping in the USA is getting out of hand. I’m sick of a an iPad POS terminal being shoved in front of my face with 18, 20 and 30% tipping option when I pick up food from chipotle or get ice cream. Your tip or lack there of can be weaponized against you when you order food through an app or online. It’s completely ridiculous.

Why? So eBay can charge a fee for that too? We already pay fees based on the total amount of the sale. Adding a tip would increase fees we already pay IMO.
Nope 👎 not a good idea at all.

I don't get it? Tipping at checkout, they haven't received the product so what are they tipping on? If you need more money raise your prices.

Absolutely not.
As a seller I price my items to account for the time and effort to list and ship.
I wouldn't tip on eBay (and don't tip when the takeout person hands me my order).

Yeah, really. That's why I'm perplexed by how far tipping in America has gone. I loaded up some money onto a Dave and Buster's card and there was a tip section on the credit card receipt for that. Unreal. Getting food to go and you pretty much always see a tip request now.... before you even receive the food. I never tip for takeout... and it definitely wouldn't make sense to tip before receiving service.

Maybe Ebay will do it just for that reason. More profits. I think a buyer tipping during checkout would be a bit absurd, but the way things are going with tipping in the US, it's almost needed so people can have the necessary push back once they see in pervade everything.

I’m running my own business here on eBay. I am not an employee. Asking for a tip just doesn’t seem appropriate. If I’m not making enough profit then I need to rethink my business plan. Plus it would really upset my buyers!

Ughhh, can't imagine how that would complicate taxes. I also can't imagine anyone would do it, but who knows, tipping seems to be everywhere these days.

Yeah, kind of the point of the post... only a matter of time before we see the practice start hitting the online sites. I am pretty sick of seeing the tip stuff everywhere.

Would you like to tip the cashier at WalMart? Or how about tipping the self-checkout lane?

A Tip? We're lucky if we get feedback these days!

Although your idea is very heart felt and kind, tipping really doesn't apply to this venue, In my opinion anyway.
Amazon has that feature on their Whole Foods site. Those drivers make $22 hour in my state and area. They are also supposed to deliver perishables in a proper temperature controlled vehicle. The girl that delivered my order showed up in a Dodge Charger. I complained and got a credit, as one of my items was melted.
I think as sellers we pay out enough...just my thoughts.

No thank you I already live in Nevada!

The idea behind tipping is to give an employee a little extra in their pocket for going out of the way with their service to you as a customer. It is for going above and beyond, or to insure that the next time they will remember you and make you a priority. None of that has anything to do with buying on eBay. Sellers are not employees, they are considered business owners, even if they are only selling items from around their house. At the time of checkout the seller hasn't even done anything, the buyer has. If you were attempting to be humorous or sarcastic you worded your OP incorrectly because it sounded like you feel this was a good suggestion. Best of luck to you....
