Standard ad fee

Why was I charged for an "Ad Fee Standard"? I don't recall requesting any special service for this item.

Is there a way to inquire about a refund for this fee?

Re: Standard ad fee

Did you sign up for promoted listings?

Re: Standard ad fee

Ad Fee Standard

would be Promoted Listing Fee based on the percentage you selected when you listed the item.

You can check to see if others are being promoted by listing your "Active Listings"

There should either be a filter for or a column for Promoted Listings showing the info for that item.....

The amount is charged separately from the FVF and will show you which item number it is affiliated with....

Re: Standard ad fee

Yup, that's a Promoted Listings fee.

Re: Standard ad fee

I did not sign up for promoted listing. eBay states i was charged 4.1% extra. I did not want or request that.

How can I get a refund from eBay?

Re: Standard ad fee

You can follow the help menu to Customer Service.  I doubt they'll refund though, as somehow the item got promoted, which obviously helped it sell.

Re: Standard ad fee

You should check your other listings to see if any goof them are promoted. Go to your active listings in sellers hub and check the Promoted Listings column.

Re: Standard ad fee

Double check your listings, you may have clicked the promoted listing fee on an item or items.

Good luck!

Re: Standard ad fee

None of my other items are being "promoted" and I've never used any promotions in the past. Oh well. Thanks anyways.

Re: Standard ad fee

Do you ever use "Sell Similar" to list, (using someone else's listing as a template?)  If that seller was promoting his listing, maybe that carried over? I'm just speculating, don't know if that can happen or not....

Re: Standard ad fee

Your post about having it added, and the other people stating to check - so we did and none of ours have it BUT - the amounts that ebay suggests is hilarious!  Most funny part is they suggest three different amounts for what are basically the same items - a piece of paper with printing on it - which are all listed for the same price. Amounts ranges from 4.4% - 6.6% - 7.%.

Oh, it makes sense to me when you're talking "money grabs".

@ahmedrezk

It sounds like you may be referring to seller fees that eBay charges on all items once they have been sold. This is the US board so I don’t know what the UK charges but you should be able to find out on the UK site.  Sign into that site, click on help and contact at the top of the page and type in selling fees to get that information.

Re: Standard ad fee

I just had the same issue. I never signed up for ads and am being charged 15% on top of regular fees. Did you resolve this?
