I have used sponsored ads to help get better search results so potential customers can better find my listed items. Normally I would have my original listing and then a duplicate sponsored listing. The customer could buy from either one. If they buy from my ad I keep all the proceeds for the sale but if they buy from the sponsored ad for the same item I pay Ebay an additional percentage that I have set up.
However lately I am finding that when I do this I no longer have my own ad. The only ad showing is the sponsored ad. So now if the item is going to sell it will have to be purchased through the sponsored ad only and I pay the percentage to Ebay.
Has anyone else seen this in their own listings.

You are correct, only one of your listings will appear. This was announced in the Fall Seller Update. You can read about it here:

no i have not seen this but it sadly makes sense; along with a bunch of other **bleep** has me looking elsewhere to run my sales. we recently got a auto return request for a laptop that the issue with it was not what the return was claimed they claimed the tracpad doesnt work but it does or did unless they swapped it out which is what we suspect. we removed all our large ticket items which can be used to pull out parts and now only have low priced items which arent worth taking apart. ebay no longer cares about the seller only the buyer. whoever is in charge is insane.

This is of no benefit to sellers except to increase their cost of doing business

With this change I will most likely be cancelling my promoted listings. The advantages now appear to be minimal. Why pay more just to have my original listing removed?

Thanks for bringing this up! I will now remove all 1400 of my "Promoted" Listings!
"We will select which listing to display, based on factors such as listing quality, relevancy to the buyer’s search, and ad rate." I wonder what one Feebay will choose?! HAHA

It might actually be more cost effective to drop promoted ads and run a second duplicate listing for 25 cents. Assuming it can be done

Others may follow. Ebay should know trying to squeeze the golden goose only produces broken eggs.

For me, 100% of my solds after the recent change have been promoted listings. Before, it was around 50/50. So I assume eBay is now only showing promoted listings instead of my regular listings.
