Need help with multiple item listing

Hello, 

Can anyone please help me determine if this is even an option? I am playing around for the first time with listing multiple variations of an item but it's not quite giving me the options I need. 

I guess my first question is can I add a MINIMUM PURCHASE QUANTITY? I want to sell "2 for the price of 1" but if I list each item separately for half price, somebody could just buy one. I can list them together but then there are too many possible combinations.

For example, let's say I have several each of red, blue, white, and pink items. You have to buy two, of any combination. Then I need to list shipping for two selections. Is that even a possibility?

The reason I am doing this is because the shipping is cost prohibitive for each individual item.

After you finish the option section of your listing, save it and go to the bottom of your listing page, after shipping and returns, is an option to discount on the purchase of 2 or more items. Simply check the box and select 50% off when you buy two or more. I hope this is universal and not something only those with a store enjoy.

No, there is no option to set the minimum purchase as 2.

You could sell in multiples of 2.

I have a similar problem with these inexpensive candies i sell. Shipping on 1 item is more than the item itself.  Hopefully buyers will see that and not buy just 1 ... but in my experience, buyers will still buy just 1.

First, it would depend on the category, if it supports variations, some don't

List them as a pair.
Set two variations, item 1 and item 2.
In each variation, list the colors and how many pieces of each color.
As for the the shipping, I would either add the shipping to the item price and offer free shipping or do a flat shipping rate.

Near the bottom of the listing form is an option to indicate how much you want to charge for each additional item purchased.
