I'm a self-published author and my book is sold exclusively by me or on Amazon. However, I found a seller that is selling new copies of my book here on eBay for over twice the price that they are supposed to be sold for. I've tried to contact the seller but I just get a message stating that due to a high volume of messages, this seller cannot accept anymore messages at this time. I want to report the listing but I don't know what to report it as. I'd like to speak to someone from eBay directly about this situation but I can't find a way to do so. Any suggestions?

Are they *selling* your book for twice what it sells for on Amazon, or are they *listing* it for twice the amount?
Theres a huge difference between the two.

If the seller is buying them from you on Amazon and then reselling them there, he is doing nothing wrong and what you think it is "supposed to sell for" means nothing.

Not sure if you know of David Paulides, but he only sells his books on his site, canammissingDOTcom. On Amazon, his books cost twice as much. People buy from his site, and sell on Amazon. It upsets him, according you his YT videos, but he won't sell on Amazon.
Obviously, unlike myself, he doesn't write to be fed, not famous. 😞

Someone is buying items from me on ebay and then reselling them for much more.
How do I put a stop to this?

"It's not the same unless OP is selling the book for twice the new price. "
Not to quibble but I have a copy of Stephen King's The Stand in what is called the coffin box. Very rare, and the day it sold out it was worth ten times what I paid for it.

Looks like you can't handle the way the world works here on eBay and the truth.
If you have such a soft skin them maybe you need to take a break and reflect on life.
Your replies are pretty catty and pissy from what I see posted.

If seller purchased your book from you or Amazon and has decided to resell this book and did not read the book s/he received for the purpose of re-sale sorry nothing wrong with that

If they read it, they can still re-sell it, though of course they should call it "used."

Now I am intrigued!

If they are purchasing your book and selling it for two times the amount you need to double your asking price. If they are listing it for two times the amount but no one is buying it then be happy, yours is half the price and will easily sell.

The problem is, is that I'm not receiving any royalties for the copies of my book that they are selling. So no, I'm not being greedy. I'm not getting paid at all.

You only collect royalties on the original sale of the book, not when somebody re-sells it.

nocoolnamejane "hit the nail on the head." The infinitives TO LIST and TO SELL are radically different. Many years ago, Hostess decided to exit the business of using route people. As I sell Little Debbie products, I picked up some of their items to augment my stock. A few folks informed me that Twinkies were selling on e-Bay for $1000. I attempted to explain the situation, but failed and shrugged it off.

If they are purchasing your books from Amazon to resell, then Amazon is paying you the royalties.
Like pobody’s nerfect pointed out, royalties are paid only once, not every time the book is resold.
